Coach Curt Cignetti to INDIANA

I was just reviewing the list, not a lot of stars, but that is expected. If he can develop guys and just instill a culture of playing tough and smart (think Iowa) that will go a long way. Then get some offensive playmakers (to avoid the putrid Iowa like offense) and you have a recipe for bowl eligibility, IMO. I hate losing to Michigan/O$U/Penn St like clockwork, but squandering games against MSU, Illinois, Purdue has to stop first. If CCC can get IU to stop beating themselves, he deserves a blank check.

As well as... if they just scouted correctly, to begin with.

The bold is a great point, and I'll also add, Maryland+Rutgers should never wax us.

This^^^ and why I started to "turn" on CTA.

For sure. There is a laundry list of 4 start/highly rated 3 stars that were incorrectly rated/starred by recruiting agencies. We took the bait. Poor scouting/poor development is just a recipe for disaster at Indiana.

If Kansas State can be better than 7-5 every year with their recruiting, so can we. Period. Old Dominion had 3 guys drafted last year.

His stud WR from this past year... this is what his recruiting profile looks like ... https://247sports.com/Player/elijah-sarratt-46145870/high-school-306034/ ....

On3 and Rivals didn't even bother to have a profile on him.

Losing one score games (4 this year) is the norm. Coach Cig tends to win those games. I'm expecting an improved football team with this coaching staff. Yeah, we've lost some players and filled those holes through the portal, but overall, it's pretty much the same team. Changing the way we think is part of the process. No self imposed limitations. Sky's the limit.

He's doing a Zoom today and all kinds of quotes hitting Twitterverse.  Couple of my favorites.

Cignetti: "The administration here, they want football to win. So I've probably got a couple things the other coaches didn't, and they've got a guy who knows how to win. "It's pretty simple."

"This roster's gonna look a lot different in January when the players come back." Suggests there will be seven more transfers announced after bowl games.

Cignetti on selling vision to HS and portal recruits: "It's pretty simple: I win."

Coach Cig has an air about himself... almost cocky, but in a believable, likable way. Someone once said "it ain't braggin' if you can back it up"... CCC has backed it up where ever he's been. Welcome to BTown, sir!

Coach Cignetti.... paraphrase, "Look, the administration here, they want football to win! I've got some things that the "other" coaches didn't..... and hey, they got a guy that knows what they're doin!".... I love his confidence. I sort of got from his last statement that we will definitely not see what we saw the past several years as long as his coaching staff and football team has anything to do with it. He did say he thinks we will win big next year..... I sure hope so.

If his team plays as good as he talks, we are going to have a lot of fun. I don't see the undisciplined play we've become accustomed to continuing under CCC.

I hope if he ends up winning here that we are a destination good enough for him to make it his last stop before he calls it quits. If a bigger “football school” comes after him, hopefully he’s happy enough here to say thanks but no thanks. Maybe with his age that just may be the case anyways.
