I don't think we have met with any of these guys in person yet and want to do that today and tomorrow wherever we can and then go from there. Just feels like Dolson hasn't been on top of things. I realize that Allen was let go Sunday, but many are claiming the decision was made weeks ago. It just seems odd that it's taken 4 days just to VET candidates. Candle is the only guy on that list that they may have limited access too given Toledo's status in the MAC championship. This whole process just reeks of amateur hour. Did I hear a little bit of hot head? Or just no nonsense. Definitely no nonsense. 23 ranking and very complementary of players success. And stated, “ “ ask the players, we haven’t won anything. We have more football to play and we are trying to get where we want to go.” Very Coach Teri Moren like in breaking down game and talking about players including passing game and Quarterback development and their individual work. Jason Candle is the man and would be excellent for IU. Let’s go! Sidenote: remember the recommendation by Bob Knight to hire Bill Mallory. Sidenote: Brady Hoke did not work at Michigan. However, IU is not Michigan. Simple. It’s not rocket science. Let’s Go! Quote

Four years later seems like a long time to give credit to a coach who was never above .500 at IU. Those two bowl seasons IU was 6-6 in the regular season and lost their bowl games.....and IU was 6-11 in conference. I know. But he had plenty to do with 2019 and 20. Quote

ap2345 Posted November 29, 2023 Posted November 29, 2023 I heard that Osterman said IU plans on having the new head coach at the IU and Maryland game Saturday. That tells me it’ll be Frye or Chryst if that is true. MemphisHoosier 1 Quote

No clue what Frye makes at Ohio State but I would have figured the chance at play-calling duties with a competitive salary would help jump start his head coaching potency but apparently IU is ready to roll the dice. If it is indeed Candle we probably won't hear anything official until after Toledo plays at noon Saturday. If Chryst it could be in the next 48 hours and he better have assistants already lined up and ready to go for Monday. God knows he needs it. If it's Hart or Frye I'll pretend I care and try and talk myself into it, but realize that my Saturdays are going to be pretty free for the foreseeable future. To me, Candle has seemed like the obvious guy from the jump. But, truthfully, I don’t really care who they land on. And I don’t care what the guy says in his presser about the unpolished gem that is IUFB. What I do want to hear, and probably won’t, is Dolson deep dive his process into how he landed on who he landed on. And I’d like to hear the press push him on stuff if he just tries to platitude the thing. I’m a huge believer in process. You want us to believe in your result? Tell us how you got there.
