Chris007 Posted November 28, 2023 Posted November 28, 2023 Weaver just updated that Mike Hart is interviewing right now. Boy, he's never called plays, or been an OC or HC. go iu bb and NVFalcons1990 1 1 Quote

He got mentioned by me and some other cat on like page 20-50 or something. LOL. I was just throwing out coordinator names, since Lewis is being discussed. I guess my point was to point out there are plenty of other coordinators that have a more experienced resume than Lewis. It was more of a knock on Dolson than anything. Quote

Not completely true he was a HC for one of the games Harbaugh was suspended for. And he did such a good job they didn't let him do it again. iuthruandthru and Chris007 2 Quote

We lost 3 of those games by 1 score games, and one was double OT to UM. yep.. RU beat us in a horrible game. Yuck still remember that. Wait wait.. his first year for the bowl was when Sudfeld+Howard both got hurt against OSU. We beat OSU if that doesn't happen. Hmmm .... Kevin Wilson was/is a really good coach. Unfortunately his defenses wasted the talents of Latimer in 2013 and Coleman in 2014. Quote

NOT that we're going to find a hall of famer, but Belechick's won/lost record was 36-44 before New England. However, there was something about his past performance; the leadership, the relationships he built, the innovation, that got him that Patriots job. And two dudes named Bledsoe and Brady. :) OGIUAndy and J34 2 Quote

Obviously we all hope for someone better than Wilson. The point is if Lewis' floor is Wilson we could certainly do worse, at least it'll be fun. Wilson was always a DC away from being truly good and a lot of that was the administration hamstringing him with no budget for assistants. He finally figured it out with Allen and we never got to see how that would work out, I think there is evidence to suggest that the administration is ready to pay now. What matters is can the head coach identify defensive coaching talent and can the administration come up with the money when he does. That is the upside with Lewis. At a school like IU, where good coordinators are poached almost immediately, I think it can only help if the HC is the play-caller and heavily involved in the offense. That way, you only need to hit on the DC instead of having to consistently hit on OC and DC, which is what killed CTA. GoIU8, NVFalcons1990, thebigweave and 1 other 4 Quote

I might be able to find a former player, it was a small 2A barely above the 1A cutoff but IU clearly isn't being serious so why not. Quote
