A whole lot of reasonable, wise posters with perspective on this board.

Makes me look forward to reading.

I’ll add one more thing. People who are intelligent and at their core great young people are still really complicated and flawed sometimes, and so are the people they interact with, from the Taco Bell clerks to the officers that responded.

I think some here have a different set of ethics and values. Things I would see as a non starter you would see as fine. This, this situation, yeah, I have done way worse and just not got caught.

also, I don’t think some here understand there is a real factor in not trusting the cops for some of these kids. Willfully ignorant to think otherwise. Can make some things worse than they need to be but in other cases but has saved kids from really bad situations. Will never forget that Netflix show “When they see us” - just one really good example.

This report was also written from the cops side. When something seems really out of character for someone, maybe there is a reason?

18 is still a kid. I have one 18 and one 19. They make bad decisions daily.

even if facts are 100% as stated, he will learn and my support doesn’t change any.

I’m not condoning what has come out regarding what he did, but I just wonder what the rest of the story is.  I find it hard to believe he just decided to drive through Taco Bell at 3 in the morning to cuss some people out.  Did he pay for an order and then they refused to serve him? (a common occurrence these days at fast food restaurants, especially with mobile orders).  Whatever happened, he certainly needs to understand the danger he put himself in with the way he reacted.

Again, no alcohol related charges which would lead me to believe it wasn't involved.

I didn't know you were allowed to be at Taco Bell at 3 a.m. without alcohol in your system.

Maybe that's what the initial problem was. 'Sir, are you drunk. No? Then why are you at Taco Bell at 3am?'

Getting arrested is probably better than the slop they try to pass off as food.

Assuming he didn’t get his order I think we can all agree those cops saved his toilet a world of hurt.

A series a bad decisions, starting with going to Taco Bell.

I'm starting to realize that a lot of you have broken taste buds.  Taco Bell is phenomenal.

Non compliance with police is not.

Oh, I’ll eat it. But 30 minutes later it has exited the premises.

Best band for your buck is the spicy potato taco for $1

Yeah, we have a real Stephen Jackson on our hands here…

Sounds like a big nothing burg….burrito to me.

I hadn't heard of the Stephen Jackson one or the Trevion Williams one either.

Great take. 18, $, and everyone knows who you are. I couldn’t imagine dealing with that at 18, I support the law and officers but reading the statement, breaking his window seems a little much. Not very surprising of college town cops in my experiences with them. Can be a very good learning moment for the young man regardless and I’m sure Coach Woodson & Staff are addressing it properly - Woodson has repeatedly addressed turning his players into successful men. Maybe he takes MM’s keys and puts them in the lock box next to X’s for the year. I can’t see over two games suspension, care to speculate what you think reasonable punishment will be?
