Yeah it can only help in the Mullins recruitment. Not too many examples of 2 5 star kids at the same position that pick the same school. Kids and parents can say all they want about it not mattering and they will pick where they feel is the best fit however numbers say they don’t end up picking the same school. I’m sure Kentucky or Kansas has landed 2 at the same position. UConn is hot right now so maybe they could pull it off but I would bet against in my opinion hper50, Demo, J34 and 2 others 5 Quote
Popular Post HoosierTrav Posted September 30, 2024 Popular Post Posted September 30, 2024 The only factor that has me really wanting this kid, is the optics of landing a 5 star Indiana guard and the energy/buzz it would create with our fanbase. Freshman just don’t have the impact (on winning) that proven veterans do. Look at our roster this year and compare it side by side to last years. It’s wild that we were able to make THAT much of a change, with so little efforts towards traditional recruiting practices. Whether Mullins chooses us or not, I’m not concerned about having a winning roster. We will just go find another in the portal and he will very likely be further along than any frosh. I’m tired of vanity wins and I’m ready for wins on the court. If that’s with 5 star kids from Indiana, or unknown kids from Timbuktu, it wouldn’t make a difference to me. There was a time where it mattered to me. Not anymore. cthomas, DChoosier, J34 and 5 others 8 Quote

I take that as looking for somewhere that he is going to get a lot of touches and Adams signing would cut back on that. They are also bringing in three guys this year -- a four star combo guard and two four star small forwards -- that are likely to be there in 2025 and limit where you move either Adams or Mullins to get them on the court together. Adams and Mullins can be on the court together, but it does limit each of their looks and size of their role. cybergates, mamasa, thebigweave and 1 other 3 1 Quote

dwtaylor1055 Posted September 30, 2024 Posted September 30, 2024 I think the Adams to Uconn helps us get Mullins but only slightly. Uconn is able and will play both Adams and Mullins on the court together. Quote

That is, there is going to be more of a log jam at the 2/3. dwtaylor1055 1 Quote
