If we landed him for Hysteria, that's a pretty sweet pull. (For the kids, which obviously is what matters) Let's get down to it. Is a rapper from 20 years ago landing us Derik Queen or nah? Playing the long game is good. But really, a rapper from 20 years ago? *I admittedly know nothing about this genre of music* Quote

Last we sat by kids just waiting for the basketball events to end looking at their watch every 5 min and then you had my family and I jetting as fast as we could to get out after the basketball events. Kids were sprinting down from higher up to take our seats. I’m glad they have stepped up and put some thought into making it a big spectacle for the younger generation however I don’t need to be around to see it though. I'm thinking about taking the 4 year old this year and will have him out of there WELL before Gucci comes on lol. I'm guessing it'll be a great crowd. Uspshoosier and thebigweave 2 Quote

WayneFleekHoosier Posted September 20, 2023 Posted September 20, 2023 People need to embrace this tactic. The way they handled it last year was perfect. It was at the end and if you want to leave, people can leave. The kids can “party” and enjoy the vibe. No harm no foul. I am a pretty big fan of the rap genre (but also about every genre sans country) and have been for 30 years. Gucci Mane, I don’t really care for but he’s notable and many really like him. I imagine the behind the scenes to set this up included talks with what the players think would be cool. this is smart and modern. Let’s embrace it. Popular Post HoosierTrav Posted September 21, 2023 Popular Post Posted September 21, 2023 Fun fact: A friend of mine was working as a club bouncer in Detroit during college. Gucci Mane was performing there and he had him call my phone late (around 2-3 AM). I had a job that I had to be up around 5:00 AM and thought it was a prank. So I went off on the ol East Atlanta Santa and told him that I didn’t have time for BS. my buddy called me the next day and asked me what I said to him. lol. cybergates, HoosierHoopster, mamasa and 7 others 3 7 Quote

Yeah hard to describe but he was huge underground 2005 on and is one of the main stylistic antecedents to many of Atlanta’s current stars, as well as the label owner who broke some of them. Chris007 Posted October 17, 2023 Posted October 17, 2023 I'm slowly starting to get excited about this. I told my 17-year-old that Gucci Mane was playing a month ago, and he told me it's no big deal, he's not a good person. Fast forward to last weekend and I told said 17-year-old that we had wristbands for the floor so he could be up close with the players and Gucci Mane and he said that's great, can I take a friend.
