It’s not really. And look what happened to Romeo, that’s kind of the point. He’s not a lottery pick, at least now. Is he ready to grab floor time from current NBA guards? Is he a point or combo? What team has the need for him now, and what management is involved. It’s just not that simple

Please tell me how the situations between Cody Zeller and JHS are the same.

Romeo is still playing in the NBA 4 (?) years later and has made quite a lot of money. JHS is a more complete player with just as much upside. There will be several teams willing to taking him in the first round and continue his development.

Stay in school making limited money while having to attend classes and such or go to the NBA where you make more, your life is about developing, and have access to world class coaches and staff to develop. Up top we both know the obvious choice, a foot lower and we both would love a sophomore year.

Something that wasn't really discussed was how well we took care of the ball. We didn't have the turnovers for touchdowns that we had in previous road games. This will be extremely important in postseason games.

Not sure what your struggle is. Cody was a sure fire first rounder, just outside the lottery. He came back to grow his game when he would have gone well in 1st round, he was much better for it hitting the League as a soph. Romeo is still in the NBA? I’m sorry, tell me how much he’s played? Tell me his trade history? Do you actually follow him, do you have any idea what he’s actually doing? Now compare Cody’s career, what he has made in comparison, what his role has been over his career? Cody is way better off.

I said “probably” but not necessarily to start this convo. There’s no question JHS is a lock for the first round. Training at the NBA level, against NBA comp, is better, hands down. But you have to consider (and he will) what team is saying they’ll draft him and where, what the roster(s) of that team it teams look like, who the management and coaching staff are (Romeo was in good shape getting drafted by the C’s, with Wonder boy coach at the time and excellent management, even though he couldn’t stay healthy and couldn’t beat out the level of comp in front if him and barely played and went D League they took care of him - many teams wouldn’t), etc. And the NIL money is big, it’s not chump change. I think JHS has the body, and the tools to make it in the League, but off or on ball, who are the guards on the team(s) who give him assurances? These aren’t questions he’ll just dismissively whiff on, he’ll look into them and with Woodson’s input. He was so good last night I lean to thinking he’s gone, but heard the same stuff with Cody

I guess crazy things have happened before... Marcus Smart was a lottery pick after his first year at Oklahoma State and came back.

My struggle is seeing how the exception to the rule determines the rule. Cody is a rare example and there was more than just the skills there. The ties to Indiana, what he meant to IU, and what the program was going through at that time played a major role in him returning. JHS doesn't have those ties.

Dang, didn't know Romeo was injured again and he remains in the NBA despite those injuries. I guess he made the right choice leaving after one season. He has what NBA teams want and will be drafted in the first round, potentially lottery after this season.

You sure like to argue, lol man. Yeah, Romeo’s situation is clearly much worse than Cody’s but you backpedal and spin your own argument. Ok. There are also plenty of examples like M Smart out there as well. Jalen will do what he thinks is best for his future— but he’ll do it on an informed basis, that’s a good thing, we’re talking about a lifetime career choice.

Glad I'm "arguing" with myself. There is no backpedaling here. As stated in my original post, JHS is gone to the NBA after this season. He will be drafted in the first round if not the lottery.

What jhs did last night was the most impressive thing I have seen in a while from a iu player. Also only the elite greats have done anything similar. Sure guys have had great games but to show up at wacky with a hostile crowd and proceed to drop absolutely beautiful buckets and go for 35 or whatever it was is bad @$$
