Michigan State shot 28 free throws.  Jordan Geronimo and Malik Reneau fouled out in a combined 34 minutes of play.  7 of Hoggard's 11 points came from the ilne.

Hoggard should have been happy it was chippy because Michigan State had 28 free throws in a road game.  That was the only thing that kept them within 13.

And the comment is laughable. MSU is almost always chippy, it’s their own MO.

Coach Ya filling in for Woody on the Monday night radio show.

Rosemond on Tamar Bates’ performance against Michigan State: “Coach had a great conversation with him before the game. He responded, that’s all I can say. Can’t use that type of language on the radio.”

So first a convo with JG lights a fire and gets him rolling, then a convo with Bates lights his fire.

Remind me to talk to Woodson next time I’m being lackadaisical

If Archie was still at IU my guess would be Smith would have  went to IU.   Miller and previous staff was recruiting him harder than any high major at the time.    It was still early but IU was showing him love

I feel bad for Smith.

If Archie was still coach Smith could have been in Bloomington, an immeasurably better college town than Laffy, and experiencing what it is like to be on a 7-10 or so game losing streak.

Hard to know for sure depending on what others do around that area but I would be confident if IU was sitting at 9-11 in conference(don’t lose to Minny) with 0 Q3 or 4 losses and out of conference wins against NC and road win at Xavier.   That’s the floor to make it in my opinion.   That’s by no means a guarantee.  I thought they were good last year after they won their first conference tourney game and committee was clear putting them in the first 4 that they really needed that second win.    However IU didn’t have top 25 out of conference road win and their non conference sos was in the 200s last year compared to this year.    They would be in a much better spot this year if they were near the cut line again

I think you may be forgetting the "Michigan rule" from last year. IU scheduled tough neutral and road games against Arizona and Kansas and lost them so they should get enough extra credit to bump them up a few seed lines.

You better believe Coach Woodson learned that coaching tactic from Coach Knight. I'm sure Woody got the same treatment a time or two and knows the benefits, first hand!

I really, really hope he can back this up. I'm already having visions of an 8 point, 4 rebound, 4 foul game in Mackey with the Paint Crew harassing him all game.

Hope he can still get to 8 points and 4 rebounds at this rate.
