Hornsby Posted October 23, 2023 Posted October 23, 2023 I heard the stadium was pretty empty yesterday for a homecoming game. Indiana likely isn’t winning another game this season. If Dolson can’t buy him out or if Tom doesn’t walk, the season ticket buyers will be down to its lowest in history. I mean they were selling season tickets for like $70 bucks at Costco before the season started this year! Nonetheless, I think this is Tom’s last dance. He’s walking away or Dolson will pull the plug. Doubt he wins another game. Penn State will beat us by 50.Sent from my SM-A146U using Tapatalk Quote
Lebowski Posted October 23, 2023 Posted October 23, 2023 If only this year's games were 15 minutes long! Some have already mentioned this but I will be very surprised if CTA is IUFB's head football coach next year. If he is then it lets everyone (coaches, recruits, fans, conference big wigs, media, etc. etc.) know Dolson gives zero poops about football. Folks are no longer interested this season and money is being lost for the program because of it. At this point, it's about dollars and 'sense'. Have him stick around for another year and lose more money (millions) in revenue or go ahead and make the business decision to take losses up front and hope with the right hire recoup those losses in a year or two. It's disappointing to say the least. I was watching the Washington game against ASU and noticed some familiar faces coaching on the sidelines and just shook my head. This wasn't the first time I've experienced it and it won't be the last. I'm an IUFB fan and this is how it works. We fans taste a small amount of success and that success moves on to bigger paychecks and better opportunity. Hovadipo and VPC 2 Quote

It's the first time in memory that we have led the nation in anything, and the first time I can remember something about IU football (in this case CTA's seat) described as "scorching." Quote

I think it’s being discussed. From what I understand the money would mostly come from donors. I don’t think it would affect NIL or IUBB. If he isn't then he'd better be polishing up his own resume. When virtually every national writer, fans, alums, etc., are throwing mud at your coach and your program you'd better be paying attention and doing something about it. And I fully expect he's gotten more than 1 email from President Whitten starting "about that last game". thebigweave, Artie86 and Rico 3 Quote

WayneFleekHoosier Posted October 24, 2023 Posted October 24, 2023 We need a blank check and an administration that gives a damn. Otherwise it’s the Powerball lottery of chances of building a winner. I doubt (A) happens so set your expectations accordingly. Sent from my iPad using BtownBanners Quote

Actually surprised I got a response at all Scott, Thank you for your message and for sharing your thoughts about the IU Football program. I want to assure you that you are not alone in feeling and expressing your very understandable frustration. As a program and as a department, we most certainly have the expectation to be much more competitive than we have been recently both in our individual games and ultimately in the Big Ten Conference standings. Being successful in football is important to our department and our university, and that’s never been truer than now as we prepare to enter a new era of the Big Ten. One of the things that separates the Big Ten from so many other conferences around the country is the passion of our fans, both during the good times and the bad. While the tone of your email was very understandably negative, having IU Football fans like yourself who are motivated enough to voice their disappointment when things aren’t going well is ultimately a positive in my eyes. Again, thank you for your passion for the IU Football and your belief and expectation that we can and should do better. Scott 8bucks, kreigh8, Class of '66 Old Fart and 2 others 1 4 Quote
