It's being discussed, just got to come up with the right number and start figuring out what money we will have left to pay a coach.

Is this confirmation that Dolson is looking into it? Do we think we will be able to come up with the 5 million over 4 years in a way that wont hamper NIL, other athletics, IUBB, AND leave enough leftover to hire an actually competent coach??

I think it’s being discussed. From what I understand the money would mostly come from donors. I don’t think it would affect NIL or IUBB. IU wants to save the money to pay the new coach and facility upgrades.

After hitting up donors to buy out Archie and now, possibly CTA -- those guys are probably gonna say, "Hey, we can help ... this time. But dude, you gotta be smarter with those contracts!"

LOL

If he isn't then he'd better be polishing up his own resume.  When virtually every national writer, fans, alums, etc., are throwing mud at your coach and your program you'd better be paying attention and doing something about it.  And I fully expect he's gotten more than 1 email from President Whitten starting "about that last game".

Here is the email I got from.tne AD . Actually surprised I got a response at all

Scott,

Thank you for your message and for sharing your thoughts about the IU Football program. I want to assure you that you are not alone in feeling and expressing your very understandable frustration. As a program and as a department, we most certainly have the expectation to be much more competitive than we have been recently both in our individual games and ultimately in the Big Ten Conference standings.

Being successful in football is important to our department and our university, and that’s never been truer than now as we prepare to enter a new era of the Big Ten. One of the things that separates the Big Ten from so many other conferences around the country is the passion of our fans, both during the good times and the bad. While the tone of your email was very understandably negative, having IU Football fans like yourself who are motivated enough to voice their disappointment when things aren’t going well is ultimately a positive in my eyes.

Again, thank you for your passion for the IU Football and your belief and expectation that we can and should do better.

Scott

Actually, almost, kinda sounded authentic. Regardless if it was a copy/paste (it was) it seemed to suggest a change is in the works. Or that's what my hopeful eyes garnered from that anyhow.

The best thing for T.A. Just like Bill Lynch but 20 million more so than Lynch is for him to get fired.  After hurt ego and some recovery time T.A. will have at his discretion several options and opportunities.  Not as much money but still solid money and once he transitions into a more suitable position for himself he and his family will be so much happier.  Regardless, of whose fault even if he takes some time off he will be out of the pressure cooker and into a fresh start still making a couple hundred thousand per year unless he goes back to high school level….More than likely smaller college (A college like Indiana State would pay him a couple hundred thousand as head coach) or a few hundred thousand for a defensive assistant/coordinator on a more major program would pay him a few hundred thousand.  Life is so tough sometimes Lol.

A different idea…It is IU football

If IU football wants to improve their coaching… negotiate:

T.A. to remain at IU as defensive coordinator and hire an offensive successful and recruiter head coach.  (He may LEO that) and a new head coach that IU may get might think that is a good idea.

T.A. could go to a major college program as a defensive coordinator.  This is where is college success is at.

Tearful LEO.

They will; they will.
That drive after the interception is aggravating. You have won 2 games and your season is essentially over. You are on the road against a tip 10 team and you go ultra conservative. I can't understand that mindset

FFS, let’s go get Harbaugh!! Dude knows how to coach and compete. How much is Dolson’s buyout? His greatest attribute is shamelessly begging donors to kick in to get us out of horrible contracts. Their willingness will definitely be spent after this call to pitch in!
