He hasn't even played a game and he's one of my favorite players. Same was true last year before he was even officially part of the team.

It sounds like he works his a$$ off in the gym and tries to get others to do the same. Plus, he openly recruits other players.

I think he definitely has the makings of a future coach.

I betcha he does and I'm good with that.

If a young man has integrity and flat-out promised he'd take the visit, then he should keep his word and we want players who keep their word. I suppose in a best case scenario would be if he made no such promise to Texas, called Texas and said that he has already verballed to IU but not announced, and is wondering whether Texas still wants him to show up for the OV (odds are they would still want him to).

EDIT - here’s another thought: as much as you want a young man to respect commitments made, IF you had an outstanding visit to a school and you know it’s for you, you’re also not respecting the other school by going on the visit; they’d be better off knowing you are going elsewhere and can focus their efforts/energy on other prospects.

Meh; Liam McNeeley is not the type of recruit to be swayed by sudden circling of sharks, and his entire family is D1 sports experienced, well-situated to be 'shark-repellent.'

If he's decided it's us? It will be us.

I think so too, but I also know the family wants a team that can win big so getting Queen or other very high rated players has a big impact on perception. I’m less concerned about McNeeely than I am of Queen but one impacts the other.

This is dead accurate. McNeeley’s an offensive fulcrum and that tends to be lost in conversation because of the focus on his shooting.
