@Chris007 any thoughts on Adou becoming a reality for the '22 class?  In my mind there is almost too much smoke there with the steady engagement from the staff, and we know CMW's love for ballhanders and athleticism.

Oh for sure think he’s in play. Kid is going to be really good IMO.

So what are the actual feelings on Trayce coming back? Is this actually a possibility because that would be awesome

Don't think it's too far fetched. I'm not sure he gets drafted. He probably already makes a killing trough the NIL stuff. Also another year and he probably cracks 2,000 points and is the all-time leading rebounder. Plus, a lot of the best players in the Big Ten will be gone. Cockburn and Dickinson (maybe Edey) will probably be back. Davis, Murray, Liddell, Harper, Ivey, Williams probably all gone.

If Cockburn, Dickinson, Edey, and TJD all come back there could be an All-Big Ten team with four centers on it.

I am just shocked at this point how invaluable the NBA views big men with post skills but no perimeter game.  I know the game has obviously changed, but guys that used to be first round picks are quite often not even drafted now......meanwhile guys like Walker Kessler are projected into the first round because they might develop into (I guess) a guy who can shoot from the outside.

There is a site called rookiescale.com that has a consensus 2022 draft board that collects data from other sites and gives the overall average of where a player would be drafted.  Cockburn is at 92, so undrafted.  Dickinson isn't in the top 100.  TJD is at 65 and Edey is at 67, so very late second to undrafted.

It doesn't help Cockburn any that he has the footwork of a newborn deer.

This is fantasy. We won't get better shooting from the transfer portal than we got a year ago. That means we will get someone at the level of Miller Kopp, i.e., an even trade. There are very few truly talented players in the transfer portal and IU is competing against every other school. I hope IU can attract a player who "can score at all three levels" from the transfer portal. But I would be amazed if it happens. IU just isn't a good destination for transfers of that caliber unless one of our coaches has a previous relationship with that player. We stand a better chance at upgrading our talent the old fashioned way--recruiting from the high schools.

No need to fabricate arguments. I didn't say ot was going to happen. I said it's how the offense will improve.

I think you have

Starters X, JHS Kopp, Geronimo, TJD

Bench Bates, Gallo, Leal, Duncomb, Gunn, Banks plus portal or freshman

may have missed this but what % would you put on TJD returning?

Does that matter in the NBA?

I could compare Kofi to a less skilled Andre Drummond. Drummond's hardly an asset anymore. Came out of college super hyped, but now cash strapped finals contenders are the only teams that will give him a contract and he's only good for rebounds. Some nights he pulls 4 or 5 assists outta nowhere. I'm not sure Kofi could ever elevate his rebounding to that level.
