Josh Hoover just decommitted!  Likely going to Tex Tech.  I'm sure the Walt Bell intended hiring made up his mind.  Allen's decision to hire Bell is the final nail in his football HC coffin. It's one thing to have disgruntled roster players hit the portal, entirely a different level when verbals bail out because they can read the tea leaves.  Unless Dolson fires Allen it will continue to spiral out of control....Hoover won't be the last. I know it sounds dramatic,...but it has now become a living breathing problem. Disastrous.

1) Even after a very disappointing season three key guys on the secondary committed to another year at IU today. Is this a sign that Tom Allen is more popular than ever?

2) Or is the de-committment of a high school qb the sign that everything is falling apart?

Answer? Neither is necessarily true.

I pictured you sucking out of a brown paper bag after writing this.

I suspect Hoover was gonna flip even before the news broke on the new OC.

You "suspect".  Are you his dad or agent?  Maybe psychic?  Timing of his announcement MOST LIKELY was determined by Bell news.

I have not heard a number yet.

Ironically, it appears Allen picked Bell knowing that he was previously on staff with Hiller.  Realistically, it's just the opposite of what was needed.

He's making over 700K so we covered his UMASS buyout. So far I can't think of anything I like about this hire so just trying to keep my mouth shut and be positive as I can.

I know this is the "Tom Allen" thread, but is there any chance to discuss how on Earth they still believe Darren Hiller deserves another chance?

The offensive line has not done a good job protecting our QBs the past few seasons and he does not seem to be excelling at motivating his players.

If money is the issue, I can get that, but... it's been 5 years, and there should more than enough evidence that he doesn't know what he's doing.

I would imagine it is a money issue. Don't think coach is taking anymore money out of his pocket to find someone else
