Lots of people think they’re ‘clean,’ but I’d bet money that they’re operating in the gray area. Even Crean had a few questionable recruits during his time here. We gotta be willing to play on a level playing field if we want IU basketball to be where he wants it to be. I’m sure Larry Brown has told Woody a thing or two, lol. Maybe we’ll have him operating back channels. Sad but true. In fact it has probably never been as clean as some of us want to think. Hoosierfan2017, Class of '66 Old Fart and AkronHoosier 3 Quote

Just look at UCLA back in the day with Coach Wooden. Sam Gilbert was giving players cars, cash, and clothes at every turn. I think it is probably more rampant now, but it’s been a part of college sports for a long time. VO5, cthomas and Hoosierfan1901 3 Quote
lillurk Posted April 11, 2021 Posted April 11, 2021 Also he comes up in the Dawkins saga because he meets with Dawkins and Blazer and undercovers and says “whatever you need me to do, I’ll do it,” apparently with respect to recruiting players. I would not jump to conclusions that it means he’d run cash or trade favors inappropriately. Seems like he’s in a meeting with some handler-types and just says some boilerplate thing to me. I’m not naive, but this is far from concerning absent other stuff, and if there was “other stuff” it would’ve come up. This was a fed operation with subpoenas of bank records and so on. Popular Post Uspshoosier Posted April 11, 2021 Popular Post Posted April 11, 2021 Gary Trent Jr.’s 89.5 FG% tonight marks the 2nd highest field goal percentage for any player with 44+ points in a game during the shot clock era (1954-55), trailing only Mike Woodson (48 PTS on 91.7 FG%) in 1983. Hoosierfan1901 Posted April 11, 2021 Author Posted April 11, 2021 Judging by thread titles from Peegs, it appears Rosemond is trending Quote

Even the Indystar tossed his name out (the only name they used) today when talking about likely assistants. https://www.indystar.com/story/sports/college/indiana/2021/04/09/indiana-basketball-recruiting-hoosiers-mike-woodson-coaching-staff/7160914002/ Hoosierfan1901 1 Quote
Hoosierfan1901 Posted April 11, 2021 Author Posted April 11, 2021 Some guy on Twitter is saying it’s Rosemond, but it’s one of the random IU fan accounts. However, it looks like they called Franklin to UVA hours before he decided to commit there. But could have been looking at the boards Quote
Hoosierfan1901 Posted April 11, 2021 Author Posted April 11, 2021 My Prediction: It has to be Rosemond since there has been stuff trending. Like all those recent follows from people affiliated with IU, and lots of chatter of apparently on Peegs. And if he is hired, I don’t know what to expect from him, can’t tell if he is good or bad. But hopefully he ends up being one hell of an hire Quote

kottke Posted April 11, 2021 Posted April 11, 2021 Hypothetically, if Jabari came, would Trace play the 4 even though he can’t shoot outside? I don’t see how this works based on 4-1. Maybe Woodson just adapts to make it work. Quote

Asking for a friend. (The Smith kid would be a big land but I think we may still need some shooting on next year's team.) ramadden13 1 Quote

Cunningham's brother got 2 and it doesn't appear he brought much other than Cade to the team. Rosemond seems more legit as a coach lillurk and MemphisHoosier 2 Quote
