He didn’t seem comfortable saying any of that. Definitely wasn’t natural.

That’s the first time I’ve watched the video. That’s not a sincere or an emotional statement that I would expect from someone talking down on his home state that his family still lives in and talking up Boston. That was 100% scripted and would love to know why because I could’ve squashed rumors if I was in that situation without a script.

Why or how would he be forced to deny it? If he really wanted out he could have just said hey I want to go but I have a contract with the Celtics, so I’m staying. That would be enough to get him out. He didn’t instead he has this weird masshole thing. Just odd.

Just a weird response. Could have simply said “as I said before I’m flattered, but I have a job here with the Celtics and I’m happy here and this is where I want to be and will be as long as they will have me”.

I’m curious to see if IU starts being connected to anyone now. At this point Dolson should’ve been reaching out to other candidates. Maybe the insiders sources have gotten skittish and just aren’t talking now I guess we’ll see over the next few days.

I’m not saying I think it means he will be our coach, but I agree that it definitely doesn’t sound like things he would say normally and were completely pointing away from just flat out answering the question. The things he said were things that seem like something people in Boston “would want to hear” and really make them think he’s trying to be one of them....but again, I don’t wanna jump onto any theories....does seem odd though, I would agree, and makes it interesting. Again, I’m not trying to rationalize as to hold out hope, but it’s just an out of the box way of thinking about it.

He was most likely trying to pander to the fanbase so they will like him more...that isn’t turning out goo at all

The base certainly doesn't like him like Ainge does.  Boston is a tough town and the Celtics are moving farther from a title when it looked a couple of years ago that they were getting pretty close.

So over on the Butler board the rumor is Brad and Dolson couldn’t come to terms on the size of the buyout in case another big program came calling. Brad wants more money in his salary so now Dolson is calling and tying to raise more money. That supposedly came from a donor that the guy on the Butler board knows or something. Could be something or could be nothing. Could also be why IU still hasn’t been connected to anyone else.
