It’s Goodman trolling again. He has something against IU and the fan base it seems.

It’s also sad he is trashing IU given this years March madness is in Indiana and IU.

Hopefully stadium fires his @$$ for being an unprofessional jackass. He is a damn reporter not a message board troll.

No matter who the next coach is Michael Lewis should get a huge raise to come home. Young, offensive mind, good recruiter, worked under good coaches including Stevens. Bring him home to groom him to be the next guy.

After the masshole saga I am all in for an “IU guy.”   Fife, with Lewis and Hulls as assistants.

Just curious, why do we think Fife would be a better head coach than Lewis? I do understand that Fife has been a head coach a while back, but Lewis has also been an assistant under some pretty good coaches. I think I could I could get behind Lewis just as much as Fife.

Can you imagine if btb was the judging panel on American Idol or any of those other types of contestant shows.  There would never be a winner.

There would be a winner. Brad Stevens. Except Brad didn’t even audition in the first place.

I suspect it would look more like The Gong Show.and the only question would be how long it would take for someone to knock out someone else with the big hammer.

Whoever’s next will inherit a nice amount of talent, some open scholarships, and a well-heeled program in one of the best recruiting hotbeds in the country. We’re gonna be alright.

Yup. Which is why I am ok with a short term guy like Beilein. He would win in year 1. An up and comer might not. Though I prefer Beard, Musselman, or Drew.

I’m with you on preferences. Like everyone here I have nothing but respect for Beilein. I don’t think he’d necessarily take a job and I’m not sure he’d get the offer, but my feelings on him at IU at this point have changed a lot over the past week.

I understand the concern that he took awhile to get UM going. UM folks really feel like their program was in a bad spot when he took over. IU wasn’t good under Miller but I think we broadly agree there’s some talent and the program infrastructure is fine.

The other thing is that Beilein is a different coach than he was when he started at UM. One of the things I admire about him is he kept getting better even into his 60s at a job he was already good at. So I imagine he’d start better at IU.

Again: not my pick, but he’d pick a good staff, and IU would have a top 25 offense next year.

Maybe the Woodson rumor was released to make us ok with hiring Beilein. If it was then it worked, lol.

Or perhaps it was floated as a trial balloon to see what the response from the fan base would be.

I'm not sure even that one "all Alford, all the time" guy could get behind that move.

At the end of the day it really is gonna come down to what Scott D wants and his job is probably on the line with this choice.

That’s got to be pretty stressful, we all have our opinions on how to fix this mess. Let’s see what he comes up with!
