So if coaching changes is reliable. Big if! If it's contracted it can't be a current head coach correct? Wouldn't that be a major bad look to their current employer?

Look at his followed by list (32k but focus on Trilly and others who are 'plugged in'). It's hard cause we are a paranoid bunch of previously damaged nut bags (see last 2 hires or last 20 years of basketball) so when one gets spun up it doesn't take long for us all to. (Definitely including myself in this analogy)

I know others have asked, just how unusual would it be for a current coach in the tournament to have signed a contract to take over at IU once their season ends? Less likely than a guy who’s not actively coaching, sure.

It’s pretty rare, I mentioned Lincoln Riley allegedly doing it.

Pace of play isn't  just  a  product of a methodical offense, it also reflects a defense that makes the opponent work for open shots.

Drake ranked 41st in points per 100 possessions while their opponents ranked 350th. They  also were #1 in steal %, 13th in Reb %

DeVries to Iowa seems like a lock at this point. BM can come to us if he wants

I'd say this is the correct read on where it's at. very few people know what's going on, myself included as i'm just relaying 2nd/3rd hand info.

also active coaches can sign contracts elsewhere, just entails a breach of contract and agreeing to the amount owed for buyout by the new university as most (if not all) college coaches are considered 'at-will' employees by the state. someone correct me if i'm wrong on that though as it may vary state to state

Trilly posted he got a very similar text. Almost identical language about the 4 people who know

I don't want to create arguments, call out sources, or even worse, reveal sources, but I'll say, @Chris007 is way more tuned in than some give him credit for. After reading some of the recent updates, and seeing how this is playing out, I can confirm the guy has been pretty spot on in all of this. We've shared some private messages, and he knows his stuff. We should be thankful to have him, and many others, sharing their info here.

Couldn't agree more:)

I, for one, refuse to believe that Dolson gave Brad 6 weeks to make up his mind, with the decision hinging on the whims of his 16 year old daughter.

There is far too much hinging on this hire, including Dolson’s livelihood, for him to put this in her hands.

As a parent, I too find this a ridiculous story. But, I also found the "famiily vote" story from 2021 to be crazy as well.

Do you get kids' input? Sure, of course. Do you sit at a table and give kids an equal vote to determine the future of your family and to determine whether or not you take a new job? Of course not. LOL

But, it's a story that makes IU fans feel better about Stevens not taking the job, so...

That's the unnerving thing; it seems like Chris is losing a sense of directionality. If we've come near the end of the search, it seems like people are largely in the dark.

Are we gonna get get their sloppy seconds?

I don't think so...just couldn't imagine it...that's why I've all along have stood by my thought of our next coach being someone who is not on the coaching hot boards.

Big wink update. First, I haven’t been given “everything,” just a “big wink” in response to the appropriate big wink questions from the big wink contact who makes big wink financial contributions who would not pony up big wink money without first getting his own big wink from a big wink financier that a big wink contract would only be going to a big wink hire. Here you go…

The first name of our next coach begins with B. The last name of our next coach does not begin with B. See you all in a few weeks and enjoy the tournament!

Theres so much winking going on there it's head spinning!
