General Coach Candidate News

Recommended Posts

I’d love to see what a real, tough nosed, attention to detail coach would get out of this talent and this roster.

But Carlyle stinks, Rice Is the most overrated Hoosier I can remember, and Goode just wants to play Goode basketball but he’s stunk to high heaven too. No lack of effort, I guess. Anyway talent is being misused. Ballo, Rice, Carlyle, Goode all look worse

We have the best compilation of 8 players in the country if properly implemented. Jmo

Bartorvok has us 17-12.

This is it for Woody.

If we go 17-12 he shouldn’t even be allowed to see the end of the season. That would be an absolute dumpster fire - we have to have one of the top 5 highest paid rosters in all of college basketball

Bad news, that only counts known opponents. It probably didn't count Gonzaga, whoever we play tomorrow and a BTT drubbing (s**t, we have to make top 15 to do that now)

Imagine what Painter could do with this roster. And then imagine what Woodson would do with Purdue's roster.

My list
T.J. - wife played at Iowa State but does he believe he can win championships there in the NIL world?

Oats - probably a long shot but one to take.

Hopefully there are more. If Pitino could give us 7 years I would take him but at 72 that is not likely

Just imagine how horrible Crean's first team if they had Woodson as coach. Winless would be possible.
Yes! He wouldn't have a clue what to do with thar crew! He hasn't one with our guys now!

All these God awful embarrassing losses for how much NIL money? Woody was lucky to have IU's NIL budget to buy mercenaries in the free agency market after missing all high school recruits. And the same thing will continue in the next off season since the coaching staff missed everyone except Sisley. Woody experiment is coming to an end.

Give me a young, aggressive coach that plays modern college offense. If you haven't watched Bucky McMillan at Samford,  he puts a great product on the floor. Follow the coach Cig recruiting model, production over potential.

Background on Bucky https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bucky_McMillan

if he follows with another strong year he will be a hot candidate. We often hear, let them go to a little higher level before being a serious candidate for us but timing makes that a challenge.

He was our high school coach at Mountain Brook and turned a stagnant, affluent school into a juggernaut.  He had offers last season, but won't go somewhere that doesn't have competitive NIL.  He's a math savant, and takes advantage of analytics. Plays a 4 out offense, and attacking defense. I'm admittedly biased, but I would LOVE to have him at IU.

I *heart*  Bucky Ball!
