Oh boy. Looks like Shaka is today's main character. I can't wait to see where the day takes us. Cheers, everyone and let's beat Oregon!

Supposedly Dolson wants a coach who'll embrace the transfer portal. Smart used it the first year at Marquette, but not since. Only D1 school to not have a D1 inbound transfer in the past three seasons. He just doesn't believe in it unless absolutely necessary.

Indiana's AD thinks the same........lol.  IU is an extremely desirable job.  Now IU is trying to decide between a first year D-1 coach, Brad Brownell and Chris Collins......jesus.

Everyone should read this article and any Turgeon talk can be put to rest.  The guy was in a pressure cooker at Maryland and decided he was out.  What does he expect at IU?  His last season at Maryland looks a lot like how the IU season started this year .

As far as I know, there was only one person on this site pushing the Turge narrative and I think he was just trolling.

He also got caught out when some announcer (I forget who) said Woody told him something along the lines of he didn’t know why his results were not good enough, which implied he was fired.  Woody broke his retirement narrative spin with that too.

Also, of course, anyone close to the program will tell you he got fired/relieved of his duties, which makes perfect sense given his poor performance.

Mediocre Mike and his blabber confirms how out of touch with reality he really is and continues to be with the entire situation.   I'm sure he has plenty of cash and should consider himself lucky he received whatever buyout was given considering his childish actions a month ago.   He really can't be shown the door fast enough after this season ends IMO.  Move on Mike and PLEASE take that ego with you.

How do people overrate him? He won 74% of his games and IU and 72.4% of his conference games. Had IU at 22-4 before he was fired. He's gone to the sweet 16 or farther in each of the last five tournaments. Since moving to the Big 12, he’s dominated, going 34-4 in conference. Hes an outstanding coach and I don’t think it’s a stretch at all to say he would’ve won a title here at some point if IU didn’t fire him.

His half court offense is not great. It’s what kills him in the tourney every year. It’s what killed him against Davis where IU held them to 15 points below their average. His next final four was against Wrights Villanova squad where Houston scored a whole 44 points!

Can you win a title with him? Sure…he puts together good teams that are athletic and play pressure defense and wear on you for 40 min. But he needs to get lucky in the draw. Teams with good guards who can handle their pressure and/or make it a game off half court offensive execution send him packing every year. And he’s basically been a 1 seed the last four years so you would expect them to make the S16.

He’s overrated by the people who think if only IU kept him we’d have another banner by now. Possible, but not close to a sure thing. Probably not even likely given the fact that in about 35 years of coaching at P5 (Houston wasn’t always tho) schools he’s made two Final Fours. At some point you have enough data to establish a trend.

You want to kill the IU administration for passing on a scumbag that cost us a banner then lament not going after Pitino. Or complain that we didn’t go after Beilein. All much better coaches than Sampson.
