IU since 2017:  (overall record, conference record, place in conference)

2017–18    16–15    9–9    T–6th
2018–19    19–16    8–12    9th
2019–20    20–12    9–11    T–10th
2020–21    12–15    7–12    T–10th
2021–22    21–14    9–11    9th
2022–23    23–12    12–8    T–2nd
2023–24    19–14    10–10    T–6th

Alan Huss as either Associate Head Coach at P5 school, or HC since 2017:

2017–18    21–12    10–8    T–3rd
2018–19    20–15    9–9      T–3rd
2019–20    24–7      13–5    T–1st
2020–21    22–9      14–6    2nd
2021–22    23–12    12–7    4th
2022–23    24–13    14–6    3rd

2023--24     27–9      13–3    1st
2024–25     26–5      14–2    1st

Sometimes I think my good Hoosier brothers need to get the hell off their high horse. Hopefully my good Hoosier brother Scott Dolson is squared away in that respect.

Sorry, love ya Stu, but I'd rather be on a high horse than advocate for a coach from High Point that isn't going to be the coach.  And if you want to harp on his record as associate head coach, just go after the guy that was actually the head coach.

IU's last two coaches were guys that never been a head coach in a power conference.  The odds of them doing it again after two failed experiments is very low.

This is not to relitigate Beard’s issues, but for those with inside sources, are you hearing that Beard is 100% out of consideration or are people speculating that IU wouldn’t consider him? I also find it hard to believe it would him but just seems like he is still brought up a lot.

Jackal, I have been trying to prep the board for the inevitable this whole week. The Beard train is gaining major momentum each day. Those with previous concerns seem to be finding some grace within their hearts to open up to the idea of him leading the Hoosiers. It will be interesting to see how it all plays out. What once seemed as a long shot, seemingly doesn't seem so long anymore.

Personally, I think he would be an absolute grand slam, so I welcome that if true.

Why are you playing games with this chat.... you do not have a clue.. and you have not heard anything. Just be honest. Just because you post 2000000 times a day on here does not give you credibility.

I have no trouble not posting.

Oh; is it that easy?

As @Uspshoosier has clearly stated, the guy that is "actually the head coach" at Creighton is in charge of

  • a better,
  • more successful program with
  • better attendance than IU, and
  • in a better conference.
  • And his team practices at a building named "The McDermott Center." And he's 60.

AND PEOPLE TURN UP THEIR NOSES AT HIM TOO!

So yes, if we want to "Oumar Ballo/Bryson Tucker/Miles Rice Style" overpay for him? Then we've got a shot with McDermott; but that's the primary way it could happen.

Why? I'm only here to read certain posts, especially not yours. I don't come her to read everyone's opinion. I come here for the info the "insiders" put out. Just skip over me. You comments are useless to me. Good day.

If you came here for inside info, well I feel sorry for you. At least you aren't paying for it on Peegs.

.....and exactly how would we know whose sources are correct when you won't even say who the candidates are?  Pretty easy to say you aren't wrong when you never said what was right.

I shared the names I heard with a few posters on here via DM. not sharing here. sorry to be vague but tipped my hand a bit too much under my previous username with the archie info and my guy found out and wasn't thrilled. he's also a family member who gives me insane amount of access to IU athletics, not someone i'm trying to piss off.

Correct, i haven't heard anything since last thursday. almost a week and a lot can change in that timeframe. heard Stevens wants nothing to do with CBB, and loves life in the NBA, but money talks i guess. The sale of the celtics isn't a big deal to him, he wants to stay in boston but will have several NBA offers if he doesn't

Think i will withhold my info moving forward. understand the skepticism but i see why people with actual info choose not to overshare

I just don't think the Archie argument is a very good one for discrediting, for lack of a better term, every midmajor coach.

Jay Wright, Bill Self, Coach K, Bob Knight, Scott Drew, Pitino, Billy Donovan and a massive list past those individuals.... all came from a midmajor.
