That was a fluke.  They sucked all year and had the ACC tourney and tournament run.  That is why I liked IU making the call early.  Prevent any stupidity from happening.  Shouldn’t have given Keatts the extra year.

I am just saying you look at the whole body of work not just one fluke year or one tournament run.  Always hated the interim coach hire or letting a guy stay because of a run.  Never really works out a lot. Look at this year with Diebler.  Dumb, dumb, dumb.

That  fluke FF run did earn him another year plus a raise and extension which likely results in a higher buyout. So he has that going for him.

It just goes to show that the NCAAT is wild  and crazy things happen. 1 good run does not indicate a good coach, nor does a flameout or two indicate a bad coach. They're data points in the larger resume.

On the other hand, a coach with a recent FF is available with no buyout! Imagine what he could do with IU's resources! lol
