I have not been a big supporter of Buzz W but shutting down the court storming last night after upsetting Auburn was impressive.

I didn't have "ability to shut down court storming" on my list of priorities. Need to revisit our other candidates. I'm not sure Mark Turgeon would be as effective in that role.

How many superstar Creighton players can the average IU fan name?

Probably not a lot maybe however someone like me who has watched them a lot could name every starter from the Elite 8 team.   That team was loaded.   Ryan Kalkbrenner, Trey Alexander, Arthur Kaluma, Ryan nembhard, and Baylor Shierirman.  Lost by 1 in the Elite 8 and Kaluma and nembhard decide to enter the transfer portal.   They could have ran an elite 8 team back and those kids left for more money.  Mason miller was on that team as well who McDermott beat out Miller for his commitment.   He can coach.   Only thing is his name gets brought up every year as someone who could move on from Creighton but never does

There's a belief among some in the donor community that this season would have turned out differently if Malik hadn't been injured. They've made a big investment in a core group of players (Rice, Carlyle, Malik & Mgbako).

They'd like to see that group return to maintain continuity and not have a total rebuild.

Honestly I don't hate that group under the right coach - you'd need to be disciplined and get Carlyle be your defensive stopper (he's got the speed) plus if you can keep Goode (may get a year back - only played 10 games) and get Mgbako head right (last 5 games have been better) especially defensively then you've got a real solid core.

Obviously you'd need to bring in a stud or 2.

Compare that starting lineup to Drakes or even Northwestern - how many games does Collins win with that group?

Don't like Buzz? I like Buzz.

I have seen people state Scott Drew is on the "backside of the mountain".... which side of the mountain would Buzz Williams be on?

There's is no way Collins would put up with Mgbako. I'm disappointed that we do.

Creighton is like Dayton. Everyone wins there. They've had a few clunkers, but not for long.

Kalkbrenner has been on that team forever.

You know, they're probably right in that it would have turned out differently but probably not correct in the way they think. It probably would have turned out worse and IU would have no shot at the tournament at this point. That injury forced Woodson to go away from the 2 big lineup which he then continued when he saw it actually worked better.

Can you expand that to sweet 16's, FF's, Rankings, that would help differentiate from being a mid-major to being more of a P5 school now

There is a BIG difference between winning in the Missouri Valley Conference and winning in the Big East.  Comparing McDermott’s success to the others is apples and oranges.
