Or....and hear me out

Running off a coach, and alum at that, who has taken his team to the tournament 3 times in 4 seasons relegates the candidate list to "mediocre P5 coaches" and hungry up and comers.

Crean was better. Woodson has gotten blown out in the tournament.

Alright don't want to distract everyone here from work. We won't announce Stevens for a few more weeks (once March run is over) just wanted to have some fun. I'll be back on when our run is over

Pray for Purdue fans the day Matt Painter retires. Their message boards will experience unprecedented levels of trolling from multiple people . Integrate NOW .

Coach Crean has all but said he would jump back at the job and he lived it more harshly then CW

Of course he would, he's on TV right now.

That's my point. This job isn't (as) appealing to well-established coaches currently in a good and supporting environment. There's zero reason for somebody like Nate Oats or Bruce Pearl or even Dusty May to leave their current jobs for IU even though IU has more history.

I'm telling you not to act surprised when IU hires either an up and comer from the lower ranks or a "mediocre P5 coach".

I know all of that already.

That optics of running off a coach who has made the tournament 3/4 years isn't appealing to a well-established coach currently in a good situation. This is a huge reason why Dusty May wasn't interested in the IU job.

Anyone working in college basketball knows and understands the justification to the end of Mike Woodson's tenure. Not only is Indiana looking for a coach that will achieve higher, but a coach who respects the job and doesn't expect the job to worship him. THAT was Mike Woodson's biggest problem.

This is going to be fun to watch you all celebrate. What are you guys drinking?

I got it!  Isaac is actually Osterman.  Brilliant move.  Osterman will drop a cryptic X post about 11:50 and he will get a million clicks
