His dad is arguably the best college coach in the last 30 years. Jr seems to be coming into his own

He is a dark horse in my opinion, and moving up my list of preferences. One of those guys that needs the right program...

By the way, Richard Pitino’s guys played USC and UCLA this year.

Beat USC by ten and UCLA by eight.

Sounds like a good reason to cross Musselman and Cronin off the list.

Im starting to think you have a finders fee agreement with mini Pitino.

I see a certain coach being mentioned as a candidate got everyone riled up lol. I remember alot of these same posters when he got hired at Maryland were all saying how great he was and would be. The end of the day I would take teurgen over woodson then and now lol

Always going to be like this during coach search season.    Holtmann best example of this.   Came out of the gate at OSU and most talked about how he was up the road and IU should have got him.  Slowly his stock dropped and he ended up getting let go mid season last year.   Now he is at DePaul.

I’d take my high school basketball coach over Woodson right now. That’s kind of a moot point lol

Yeah, to be fair, Painter has had some rough losses to double-digit seeds in the NCAA tournament.

Of course, IU hasn't been making the tournament, so there's that...

And when we have, it's double digit loses to single digit seeds instead of single digit loses to double digit seeds.

I think we should go all high tech and be the leader in the future of the coaching industry and have some programmers create an AI coach for us.

*. He would work cheap.
*. No off the court issues.
*. Wouldn’t have to worry about his Alma mater or the NBA calling.
*. He’s do all the coach’s shows.
*. He could coach forever, or at least until an upgrade was created.
*. Wouldn’t blame the fans.
*. Could actually get us over the hump.

Wouldn't be lazy and could work 247.

Incredible ability to multitask.

A master of analytics.

Agreed... and the one we got (Archie) crapped the bed...

Looking at this from a different perspective…

I propose a coaching staff made up of posters on this forum. Just hear me out…

HC—none other than Scotty R. He’d resurrect the motion offense. Make sure there were 4 passes before we shoot. Would have us wearing the retro short shorts from the 80’s- only program to do so, and the younger generations would go ape sh!t over them, bringing in tremendous marketing dollars.

Scotty would need a recruiting/portal coordinator. With the tremendous amount of basketball he watches, @Uspshoosier has to be that guy.

No one would ever accuse Scotty of winning the press conference, so @Home Jersey will make sure that the grammar is at least passable

Finally, gonna need a GM. Someone to keep Scotty on track when his inclination is to go off on everyone and their brother. Probably the most level headed poster here @BGleas is the guy for the job.

I think this staff would make history. Save Dolson tons of money as well that he could divert to Cig, Moren, baseball, etc.
