The FACT is that Brady Stevens will be in Boston tonight

im using that FACT to argue that it is likely Brad wouldn’t choose tonight of all nights to meet with Dolson in Miami

Fair but if busy schedules made tonight really the only night to meet AND if he would then have 3 years coaching his son, don't you think that little fact might not be that big a deal?  Not saying he went or he did not but it is curious for sure.

100%. Seriously, with the exception of maybe a Final 4, what other event can possibly generate engagement like a coaching search? It is literally catnip for message boards.

A very colorful arrest?  Or recruiting Cody Zeller after those couple of years.  Outside of that or the Moses Abraham recruitment?  100% this.  Once people realize it isn’t their first or second choice?  The masses turn on each other quickly.  For IU, it’s a viscous cycle.

Now before I go on, I will say my kids are 4 and 2. They are not in college. But if spent my entire life loving a school (company) and my dream job was to work (coach) there and they called and said “hey, get your agent and let’s meet in Miami Wednesday night”….i would tell my college walk on son, sorry buddy, got to travel tonight. A freaking dream job (if that’s how he still looks at it) comes along and with the ability to coach my son, I’m on the first flight out. College son would understand So would most kids and adults. I’d assume Brad has missed a game over the years too.

Yes, but you all act like if he and Dolson don’t meet TONIGHT then he can’t have to job. It’s February 12th. If it was March 12th we might be having a different conversation.

Is this your first coaching search? This is how it goes every time. If I get to the point in life where I’m making fake message board accounts to keep the site I mod (for free!) lively, I hope my wife takes me out back and shoots me.

You're just creating users so you can try to move up the leaderboard. We all know that this is what it's really about. In fact, I think you set up the Woodson firing to drive traffic since that's the only way you'll be able to move up. I see through you.

My grandfather was a vet and member. Would I be eligible to join? I have great memories of being at "the Legion" as a kid. For some reason I remember they opened up eligibility to relatives of vets because of dwindling numbers.

My grandpa was a veteran also. I am a SOL (Sons of American Legion). So yes, you can become a legion member.

I thought of the Moses Abraham deal, too. Such a classic.

I would say Brad misses most of his son’s games. There is just no reason this meeting would be tonight when college basketball season has 6 weeks left. I would think this meeting could happen at a later date when brads son isn’t in town.

This lull in HS recruiting is helping me catch Old Fart. I don’t have a prayer catching Stu, he does too much pandering.

Outside of the Zeller recruitment that was both the saddest and funniest moments on any board I have been on.  Kids will never fully grasp how epic that recruitment was.  Romeo Langford’s recruitment enthusiasm had nothing on Moses Abraham.

Actually the all star break starts in a couple of days so there would be plenty of time to have a meeting

Don’t worry i talked to brads son. He’s ok with him missing this game so he can be at all of them the next 3 years after he transfers here

All we can do is report what we hear. We still have to take this thing across the finish line

If Dolson & company could somehow pull this off, it would be hilarious to see and hear all the “experts” and “analysts” who said it was never going to happen, and that the IU fanbase is toxic and delusional, pivot 180 degrees to talking about how risky the hire is because Brad has been out of college basketball for so long.

No. And he never will be because he may be watching his son's basketball game.

Now that would be wild wouldn’t it.

Dolson says Brad, “This is the only night we can meet. You either skip your son’s game and meet with me or Dusty May is getting one fat offer”

You guys are awesome man!
