Could make argument if we hired dusty and he did well that he would then command a huge raise and extension (i.e. cignetti)

True, but at least then the team would currently be doing well.  I'm less worried about what we pay the coach after some results are in.

I was told the next in line for the talk was dusty who we will meet with next Monday due to schedule issues. The meeting will not be with Dusty but with agents around him who will share his plans and what he is looking for (salary, NIL, contract structure, overall plan for the program, support from the top, transition plan, assistant coach budget, etc).

Schedule makes sense. UM plays Sunday and then not again until Friday, so likely to be a travel day/ day off

Have to say this is the first time I have followed a coaching search ever ,as before the "king"  I was okay with the other coaches .I don't think I got fully involved with the mess that Crean had to take on .

I see all the candidates on all kinds of message boards or news articles .

Don't need a IU guy ( if they are anything like what we have now ) just want to get back to winning games that are fun to watch ,have not watched any IU games since B4A  .  I just hope they look at more than 1-3 different people who could become the coach .

Is there any pulse on Scott Drew?

Have no insight, but being that Baylor is a private Baptist university and he and his wife appear to be devout Christians who are quite comfortable in Waco and Baylor I don’t see him wanting to relocate to Bloomington and a public institution. He’s been there a long time.

Btw I am not Issac Torres to BoT nor is he the guy I spoke to. Just inside joke with a buddy of mine who knows him. And BoT are people like us and people love to share news with their obsessed friends. Plus 99% of stuff is made up garbage so the truth is always hidden by all the non truth. Which is also why I am comfortable sharing my info since 99% of people won't believe me haha

Ha. And I’m not blaming you or questioning what you are saying. But if I were on the board, I’m not saying **** to nobody. Not even my wife. I wouldnt want someone saying on some forum someday that I messed something up in the search.

Also, I just want to remind everyone here that none of this money is coming from any of our pockets. I don’t care if they pay someone 12 million, a yacht, and a rental property on the moon. If we get our guy we get our guy and the money will be of absolutely no consequence in the long run. Who cares if we have to pay double or triple for someone? This is the benefit we get from being IU and having folks willing to pony up, where other schools may not.
You will if we get our guy!! Then we have to pay 1500 per ticket or 100 dollar parking to pay for it

Also, listened to Rothstein at Lunch in his podcast with Little Dick Pitino.  Rothstein absolutely hammers Indiana calling it a bad job pretty much.  Seems to call out the fans. Seemed awfully harsh in tone.   I’m not sure what his deal is with Indiana.

Seems that anyone and everyone involved with CBS in some capacity got the King's side of the story (likely from Kellogg via Quinn) over the last week and are treating it as gospel.
