Self-defeating is never a good idea. If Archie doesn’t succeed so be it, but sabotage of his chances is just plain stupid.

I don’t really see how that’s self-defeating or sabotage, tbh. Archie is in year 4 and continues to not deliver. Fans can’t go to games (or boycott games, for that matter), so they are voicing their frustration in one of the few ways they can. And they’re doing it by going after the guy in charge instead of the players. I see nothing wrong with it. Fans wouldn’t be holding ‘fire Archie’ signs if we were succeeding.

I would not do it but when folks assure us Archie will be back another year I have suggested such things like this could accelerate the decision to make a change.  No fans are at games but if they were I bet they would have been expressing displeasure at our recent home games. These kind of things cause an AD or decision makers to act.

Does it hurt recruiting, sure, but to be fair we struck out on several recruits even as we headed into what most thought would be a top 35 team and a good year. If we could not recruit when things looked good this will definitely hurt now.  Which again the AD will see.

Crean was in a similar situation and suddenly the Makers came for a visit and Thomas B signed and he was able to extend his stay. Winning is the easiest way for Archie to stay but if there is some reasonable hope about next year (big recruits) then that will help.

Frustration is building across the fan base. Frustrated fans will likely express themselves and/or move on.

Now at 40 straight polls not in the Top 25. And freaking Purdue makes an appearance at 24.

A lot of teams are getting ranked this season. I think it's a combination of the wide disparity in the number of games being played and the traditional powers being down. This would have been a great opportunity for us to get ranked and start re-establishing our brand. Leave it to Archie Miller to completely waste that chance.

I think the only Big Ten teams that haven't been ranked at some point have been Nebraska, Penn State and...IU. Maybe Maryland. It's still ridiculous.

We currently hold like an unranked streak that's like 2 weeks less that Nebraska.

What do people think about Mike Roberts? I like the guy. I think he’s an interesting prospect.

What makes him interesting?  IU should have higher expectations than a relatively new assistant coach with no real accomplishments.

He seems to have the attitude and history to be a good coach. Understands Indiana. I’m also not one who thinks that Indiana needs to hire a “home run” high price tag guy.
