DeVries will kill it at IU if hired.  Let’s go

What makes you so excited? Admittedly outside “head coaching record” and 2 games watched this year I know nothing about him. I know you watch tenfold more than 99%, so what’s your opinion on his personality, play style, recruiting, and potential? Would love to hear your thoughts

if it's DeVries, I implore you all to give him a chance before jumping to conclusions. let's see his product on the floor and what he can do in year 1, i think he will surprise the doubters but that's just my opinion.

i will be celebrating with some very old, very expensive bourbon. i feel like for the first time in years, we have a legit coach who understands the current landscape of CBB

You had me at bourbon

If DeVries is the hire, that make me think one of two things: 1) Dolson never actually had his guy, like were led to believe, or 2) He had his guy, but that guy bailed on him, he had to scramble and this is who he got instead.

Would love to be wrong, but that's my gut feeling.

If Stevens was the guy and backed out again, so help me God.

Yeagley should be able to clear this up eventually

This guy filmed more episodes as Danny Tanner than games Devries will be coaching IU next season.

I was going to tag you. I love it.

well the good thing about this rumor is that all the local reporters are scrambling to badger their sources to confirm it

I have a horrible feeling it's number 2. And if that's the case, it just means the IUBB isn't as coveted as I thought it was.

I will also be the first to admit I have been in a really pissy mood this week and having troubles with the female so that could be part of it. I was looking for some actual good news and this sure ain’t it.

I've heard that Purdue is always looking for new fans...

Compare this to the pope and kelsey hires from last year and it feels similar. Devries probably has had more success than Kelsey and maybe less than Pope by a smidge. It's hard to pull successful coaches away from their teams. That is just the nature of college basketball. I would love to have gotten Lloyd or Drew or someone of that nature but it just isn't the name of the game anymore. I would wager to guess the people that thought we had no shot at Stevens will be lauding this as a great hire

This will probably be an unpopular opinion, but hiring Devries is not that much different than hiring Kelsey away from Louisville this year.

Any actual reasons for Barnett hating IU? I’ve seen it mentioned as something everyone knows but no explanation.

Can’t remember specifics believe it was peegs stuff back in the Early Archie days in regards to things said to recruits in a negative way not sure if it was about the program in general or the current staff when he was with Alford at UCLA .

like I said I don’t remember specifics could be off base maybe it’s nothing maybe it’s something bigger .

You could argue we did better than Louisville did last cycle, and just as good as UK when they pulled Pope.
This is the landscape of the sport now. Sitting P5 coaches don’t need to leave their programs as often.

I Love it…the guy has not coached one game at IU and he’s already got his cast of sycophants, devotees, s*****g on anyone who disagrees! Lmao It’s comical…yeah that’s his ******* opinion…just like you got yours….mental cases……

And you have people crapping on the coach and he hasn't coached a game yet. That road, goes both ways
