Not pumped about Devries if it’s him. That said, he seems like a guy who will make us a shoe-in for the tourney each year which will be a nice change of pace. The question just becomes what is his ceiling? I’m ok with that given what we’ve endured for the last decade.

This is the most ultimate of settle hires.  But it adds up.

Drop it man....as has been mentioned 100 times before.  Insiders are not claiming to be walking hand in hand with Dolson...they are connected to someone who is connected to someone and they are simply sharing what they hear.  Only a couple "insiders" have claimed their info as fact....and they're not here anymore....Dolson played it close to the vest and nobody was in the know...lots of info going everywhere....so you're right, no "insiders" mentioned his name....get off your soapbox and if this is true, let's rally together and lose the smugness.....

More like top coaches aren’t leaving their current p4 job to go to another p4 job.  Not just IU.  See Michigan, Louisville, and Kentucky last year ago.

I'm guessing each of those NCAA appearances were due to winning their conference tournament? So that would be 5/6 years finishing top 2 in conference regular season plus 3 times winning the conference tournament. So even though he has 0 NCAA wins, he does have some postseason success in that regard.

The fanbase is a huge problem. Lucky to have DeVries. Should be able to bring over a solid core + a few recruits. God forbid Goode and Small get hardship waivers for injuries suffered as underclassmen? Could have a very good roster before even dipping into the portal.

Hope he’s given a chance. This is a solid B+ hire all things considered.

Kentucky made a similar hire last year, and we’ve been mocking them for striking out with all their top candidates. There’s a hundred posts about it in this thread. 
 

Nothing to do with Stevens. Its a solid B+ hire. After Archie some people will be slow to jump on board.

Yeah, he lost his son, who was their leading scorer and best 3-point shooter.  He is an NBA-ready talent, that West Virginia lost after game #8 of the season and his dad still found a way to win 19 games!!!!

Also in Devries defense he didn’t have his best player 90% of the season. He probably has a winning conference record and makes the tournament with Tucker

Osterman didn't lie. He said that all the noise was coming from outside of IU, i.e. agents. Rabby just said basically the same thing, that agents are pumping confidence that it's DeVries.
