Shooting my shot….. Pearl was rumored to be a yes last year until Buckner said no. If that’s true and it’s being said Dolson has his guy and it’s someone no one is talking about, then I’m calling it, Bruce Pearl.

I have no inside info and having fun, but why not put in my guess.

Pearl has always been my 1b… would take him in a heartbeat

Take it with a big grain of salt because it only has 1,200 followers

Iowa Burner Network @IowaBurners

BREAKING: Sources confirm Darian DeVries met with Iowa Athletic Director Beth Goetz today and has verbally agreed to become the next head coach of Iowa men's basketball. Contract details are currently being negotiated. More details to follow as the situation develops.

That could be a pretty big account for Iowa basketball lol can’t imagine the state holding that many more people than that

McCollum or Devries would be awesome sign me up for either.

+1.  McCollum is riskier but the potential for big things.  I don't know why anyone would turn their nose up at DeVries.  Forget the fact that they didn't actually make the tournament this year -- he killed it at Drake and by every right his team should have been in the tournament this year despite not having their best player after their eighth game.  For the conference season his second leading scorers was a kid who wasn't in the rotation at Illinois last year, followed by a freshman who was unranked and a guy who was just a so-so player at UIC the year before.  That was not a talented P5 team and they went 10-10 in the Big 12.

FWIW, the freshman who was unranked ended up being their third leading scorer in conference play -- 6'6" guard Jonathan Powell who lives in Dayton -- averaged 8.6 ppg, bulk three point shooter who shot 35% from three -- stated his intention to enter the portal today.

Jonathan Powell had an IU offer in 5/22 and was a high school teammate of Gabe Cupps.

Riskier maybe BUT also maybe the next coaching legend in the making! He has outstanding creds and all his peers call him a genius. Talk with those coaches. They believe the guy is ready for a big job. I trust em

I just hope we have an answer tomorrow but it doesn’t seem like we will, i will say it’s interesting no one entered the portal today, so im wondering if they have a clue.

Unlikely to know if anyone entered today until tomorrow at the earliest and realistically Wednesday.  Programs must enter a player in the portal within 2 business days after a player notifies them of their desire to enter.  Today would be the earliest anyone could have filed.
