Scott seems like a smart man. He’s probably watching these games thinking… Ya it’s doubtful that we are going to make it and working to nail everything down tomorrow. I would assume flights will be worth monitoring tomorrow

Because 8 years ago there were countless articles calling Archie college basketball's next elite coach.

But you can understand how he would be at least in the running, right? Dolson should sit down with him right? If i were Dolson, i would have a damn good reason ready to replay if he turns down McCollum for anyone but Stevens at this point. He hires a Brownell who takes a **** in 4 years while BM goes on to start dominating at Iowa?! Ohhhhh talk hot seat. It would be Coach and ad out the door at the same time

(Non IU)…..Retro Pop TV Trivia question!!!

I love watching the Rockford Files….(70’s crime drama)

1. When James Rockford is asked what his P.I. rates are, what does he always respond with? Lol

I’m currently watching it, plus I’m bored. The wife’s not home yet! Lol

After reading that article and seeing Shaka mentioned as a McCollum disciple, it is possible that Dolson or the search firm met with Shaka to learn from Shaka about McCollum?

Or maybe Shaka is a candidate.

Shaka should not be a candidate. Doubt he is. Would be a serious disappointment

I understand what you’re trying to say but that’s not it. I still have several friends who can’t talk to me about the hiring process. If it was McCollum for the last week they would have been saying it. Jerry would be here posting.

Can you expand on this a little bit. My assumption would be that if there was a guy at this point they absolutely wouldn’t be talking because IU is/was still playing as would the team of any sitting coach. So that sounds exactly backwards to me.

Can't wait for McCollum to be snatched up by Iowa and for Goodman to write about how Iowa is a more appealing landing spot than Indiana.

Well, they can hire him now...Fran just got ejected in his last game...

If we get beat out by Iowa for a coaching candidate we will be the laughing stock for a while.

Are we no longer fielding a basketball team in three years?

People say it will take him time we can't afford.

So if you tune out of IUBB for two years, and then they go 30-3 in his 3rd year, will they no longer be interested in IUBB?

Apparently people will never tune back in. "We can't afford the time."

I had no idea the 2025-2026 and 2026-2027 seasons mean so much to so many.

So if you can't tell the difference, find different people to trust.  Let's start with...don't trust anybody who thought Archie would be great.  Ask the people who had the vision to see he would suck

Well seems like things have calmed down everyone feeling ok now lol

I think there are still plenty of naysayers ranting right now.

Lot of ole timers in the barbershop **** talk on McCollum in here. Just like there was back in early 70s at the actual barbershop  back when Knight was hired from Army.  It does happen. Worst case? We pass up a McDermott? Brownell? Both will be there in 4 years trust me. Best case, BM continues his current upward trend and becomes a legend. It’s as much a fantasy as Brad Stevens coaching IU. Just saying. Good fan fiction to think about though.

McCollum is not a secret type of candidate. Everyone knows he is getting a big time job somewhere. Sources wouldn’t be hiding him looking for a job.

Yeah I’m not sure you’re understanding. Everything has been agreed to. There was no negotiation. He told us what he wanted and we made it happen. Some say he’s signed, some say he wanted to wait for Woodson to be done out of respect for a fellow NBA guy. I don’t know which is true the people who get that info are above me.

I’d love for you to be right. However, I don’t think the athletic department would go into the effort to create these false narratives. If it was done, Dolson could legitimately not do a think until it was ready to be announced.

I’d put my money on McCollum with all of the smoke surrounding him.
