I no longer live in Indiana but there are a pretty good number of IU fans in Georgia. Literally not one has mentioned the possibility of keeping Woodson. Where is this chatter?

F#€¥ that.  We’ve had white, black, Native American & no one should question our hiring practices.  We need to hire the best coach, & no one should care what color or ethnicity they are.

Medved would be as good a hire as Minnesota could possibly make.

Best coach we had since knight run out of town. And he had guys like Elston and Pritchard coming in. Guys who weren't into drugs, etc. It would have worked but iu panicked and has never been the same since

The way some of you pine for Sampson you have no room to complain about any decent coach IU hires. Sampson is 70 years old. He’s been a head coach since the 80’s. He’s been to a whopping 2 FFs in his entire career, never advancing to the championship game. He got beat by Mike Davis in one of those FFs. 
 

He is a good coach, but you guys seriously overrate him in an effort to rewrite history. He completely screwed IU over but we were supposed to cover for him because he had Elston and Pritchard coming in? Lmao…

Honestly, those are the type of schools I would expect McCollum to go to. I think we land someone bigger…but who knows? Nobody.

Ben Johnson had limited NIL. I actually didn’t think he did all that bad with the resources given to him.

Gates was on some early hot board lists to IU. 

Put together a list of “successful” African American coaches. He’s on it along with Ed Cooley, Anthony Grant, Tommy Amaker.  Lamont Paris would have been on the list last season as SEC COY. He would have gotten a very strong look with his Midwest and B1G history. Not saying IU will hire anyone on this list, but there is some pressure to hire an African American coach. May not be enough to ultimately win out.

I guess that depends on your definition of success when it comes to Gates....Amaker has some success definitely but not seasons where he won ZERO games in conference....come on....thats ****....he aint a candidate....
