Cause that is what iu needs desperately. We could very easy do worse than we are now unlike so many on here believe imo Sent from my SM-S926U using Tapatalk I humbly disagree. IU needs a guy that can build a clear team identity, whether that be methodical efficient offense and stingy defense or whoever scores last wins, but we are going to score last, hair on fire offense with low ranking defense, and can recruit effectively to that style. Getting 5 stars is great fun in June but a directionless group of talent sucks in January and February, 2024-25 Hoosiers are example 1A. IU and it's NIL will attract a high enough level of talent regardless of who is the coach, he just has to know what talent he needs. JustWinBaby, HoosierTrav, sirhoosierlot and 5 others 8

It's just not a sexy hire, could be a great hire, could blow up like Archie. If it is indeed a mid-major coach, we'll officially know the Indiana job is simply just not good anymore. Or that coaches people want here are satisfied where they are at. See UK last year for reference

You hear a lot of answers but nothing you can go fact-check if you know what I mean. I will say I have heard 10 years 92 million, I have heard 6 years 67 million, I have heard 8 years 88 million. I have heard they bought a house in the Center Grove district so their daughter could be a part of the girl's soccer team there which I believe was ranked #1, He has a former player who works there so there is some familiarity. That he and Dolson met from Thanksgiving to February figuring out how they wanted to do this and keep it quiet till mid-March. I have many other things but not worth going through them all Is any of it true who knows? But I do know one person who is connected and he hasn't come back on. Have I been wrong? Yes, a lot in the last 10 years. But do I hope Dolson can pull off the grand slam? Yes, which probably clouds my judgment. I appreciate your reply and what you shared. while Stevens was not my #1 like many here, I would still love to have him and if my top ones aren’t options then he is way safer than an up and comer is. Likely the same for you but the lack of verifiable details is a big challenge for me and many others. If you could put Scott and Brad even in the same city on a certain date that is recent that could likely be verified and mean something. its just odd that nothing like that exists.

That to me would be a great hire beyond the Stevens/whoeverelseisntcoming list. Beard and Wade were the best realistic coaches we could get IMO. Pick up the phone . Call Will Wade offer him 7.5 - 8 million a year and let’s get back to winning basketball games please ! After much self debate, I'd be ok with him since giving players a big offer is legal now

In all seriousness, if there was a verbal agreement in place, I think it's reasonable they'd wait to sign a contract until they're ready to announce, for FOIA purposes. That having been said, I don't think we'd be going to the trouble of reportedly vetting guys like Chris Beard if we had a verbal agreement in place with Brad. So who knows... I think you have to keep going through the process until it’s a signed deal. What would happen if that verbal never materialized? And if it is Stevens, I don’t see him upset at IU vetting others. It’s not like we are going to call him and say, hey, we just vetted coach X and, sorry, you’re out.
