Well, I guess we let Brownell flail around for 4 years and then circle back to NOT STEVENS, MCCollum....by then he will have a few years under his belt in D-1 and maybe that will tamper the fears from some who claim the job is too big for him.

In four years, McCollum will be coaching Kansas

RabJohn's was just on 107.5 here in Indy

1) He was asked about Stevens and he said that a couple of donors he talked to said that Stevens was a silent verbal. He said he totally don't believe and don't see that happening.

2) He was asked if he was given a choice of McCollum and Brownell or the field and he said right now he would say McCollum or Brownell over the field. He would put that at 55/45

Wow - thanks Scotty - that's the most informative info from an IU beat reporter I've seen yet!

It means nothing. I had ties to a donor with their name on a facility last search that swore Stevens was a done deal. We know how that worked out.

Yes, but it really seems like it almost was a done deal last time. Archie was fired on Sunday the 15th. Everything looked like Brad. Then rumors circulated that Boston had offered him the GM position if he would stay. Friday the 19th was the masshole comment. Then we were in panic mode and ended up with Woodson the next week. I still believe that the GM position was an offer he couldn’t refuse and that came because he was going to go to IU. I even remember it being reported that money was raised to buy out Archie because Dolson thought he had everything locked up with Brad. But when he accepted that GM position , limited time dictated a rush hire of Woodson. I just can’t see anyone committing to coach until Woodson’s is truly out; it may be Brad; but this time Dolson will have a couple solid backups already interviewed that he can turn to right away if option 1 falls through.

I think the administration would need to go into witness protection if Brownell was the hire but this is IU so he's probably the guy lol.

All good!

I would get so very much behind a Ben McCollum/Alan Huss hire.

For me? Here's to hoping we get the "maybe 20 years" guy over one of the older guys.

For me atleast the fear is that we won't even give an up and comer a shot. We will hire brownell.

Peegs: where IU fans pay for information but instead just get treated like **** without getting information.

There was a mod on chat last night that seemed a little over the top.  I have never seen this mod on the board before.  It was weird to me.
