lillurk Posted April 23, 2021 Posted April 23, 2021 Really only a couple potential departures possible if we assume those who already went portal and came back aren’t going. I could imagine some players who got passed by Bates immediately would also be candidates. Quote

If you had to choose a personal favorite IU basketball player, then would Trey Galloway come to mind? Haha. He’s my personal favorite even though at almost 45 years old I can shoot better than him, but I think his shot is fixable but I’m not sure others who are more important than me agree on that. lillurk Posted April 23, 2021 Posted April 23, 2021 Brooks is a good fit, to be sure. I will say, though... Race Thompson, IU career: 6/28 on 3s Keion Brooks Jr., this season: 6/28 on 3s. Brooks was slightly better as a frosh, 5/19. Quote

Bingo-hence no announcement on social media of “I’m coming back.” Which is the point I made earlier. Edited April 23, 2021 by Hoosier987 Quote
Hoosier1984 Posted April 23, 2021 Posted April 23, 2021 I hope it’s not Trey I really like him but he’s the only player that comes to mind that wasn’t in the portal that cant shoot a lick. Chris007 1 Quote

That’s too bad if it is in fact Galloway being nudged out the door to make room. He chose IU before anyone else in his class, then wanted to stay regardless of the coaching change. Plus, I think he’s a workhorse and a true teammate who will do whatever it takes to help the team win (even a lot of dirty work). And, he’s a coach’s son with a good basketball IQ. I really like Trey too. I was hoping he would figure his shot out at some point and become a leader as an upperclassmen and someone who has an input allover the boxscore. Hoosier987 Posted April 23, 2021 Posted April 23, 2021 Brooks has incredible upside and is a potential player who can have a long career in the NBA. To think otherwise is naive. For those that are saying he isn’t that good...what makes you think he can’t improve? Do you not trust CMW to improve his game and possibly help Brooks reach his full potential like so many other NBA players he’s done? I know, I do. Brooks is another weapon with huge upside. I’m taking him. akumanina and MemphisHoosier 2 Quote

Hoosier1984 Posted April 23, 2021 Posted April 23, 2021 I would rather lose Hunter or RP as they aren’t here but 1 possibly 2 years and Trey could be here 4 improving. You need players like him who will do anything to win. IU Moondog, cthomas, WayneFleekHoosier and 3 others 6 Quote

Popular Post Stuhoo Posted April 23, 2021 Popular Post Posted April 23, 2021 I watched a fair amount of UK games last season. Rooting for them to lose was a little ray of light in an otherwise sad season. Let me tell you my thoughts on Keion Brooks: He’s got a solid outside shooting form that’s not that far off. It can be a useful stroke. Waaay better looking than X Johnson or someone like Galloway. Kinda like Race-lousy results but looks like it could get there. He’s a badass offensive rebounder. He gets lost on the defensive end way way too much. He’s an extremely unselfish player. He plays with passion—an incredible motor. He was the only kid on that suck @$$ team that attempted to lead—even when he was injured and the team was losing he was the only one that would meet the media. More than Calipari was willing to. He’s intelligent, classy, and personable. Summary? He’d be an incredible get. If Woodson was our coach a few years ago he’d have already been a Hoosier, and a very popular one. Seems to me as if Brooks had plenty of chances to come aboard had he wanted. I'd be all Norman Dale and say, "My roster's complete" -- the 2021 version of "My team's on the floor." ... Galloway wanted to be here from the beginning, wanted to be here after Archie was fired and seemingly, still wants to be here. MikeRoberts, Chris007, Joe_hoopsier and 2 others 4 1 Quote
