TheWatShot Posted December 4, 2019 Posted December 4, 2019 Just saw the GBI thread. It's actually quite tame, with more compliments than insults. Obviously the drunks and meth-heads haven't stumbled into it yet. ALASKA HOOSIER, southsidehoosier, Napleshoosier and 1 other 3 1 Quote

Green played 29 minutes. He was 12 minutes of terrific. 5 minutes of "what in the hell are you doing?" And 12 minutes of spectacular. I don't think many would disagree with that. Making shots looks great no matter who's doing it. Lots of kids made significant contributions and I still think defensively, we were fantastic..and that's what's set the tone for us. pumpfake, woodenshoemanHoosierfan, MoyeNeeded and 12 others 15 Quote

LamarCheeks Posted December 4, 2019 Posted December 4, 2019 Damn! According to Archie, Rob was back at practice yesterday, was looking good, then turned his ankle. ... He was likely to return this weekend, but that'll be pushed back. Poor kid can't catch a break. Hardwood83, Napleshoosier, ALASKA HOOSIER and 1 other 2 2 Quote

I hope he has indeed turned the corner and grown up some from last season. He seems like a really bright kid -- we need that. Smith was outstanding as far as getting on guys when something when wrong and patting them on the back when something went right. He's looking like a completely different player. A very good player. jonz44, HoosierDYT, HoosierAloha and 11 others 14 Quote
Popular Post HoosierAloha Posted December 4, 2019 Popular Post Posted December 4, 2019 Brunk and Davis didn’t get many minutes tonight but I like that we finally have other bigs that can step in and play. I think there will be better matchups for those two as we get into Big Ten play. Really hoping that Hunter keeps his spirits high and keeps working hard. If he can develop this year to contribute at the end that would be huge. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners Napleshoosier, HoosierDYT, Ranger78 and 5 others 8 Quote

TheWatShot Posted December 4, 2019 Posted December 4, 2019 Wasn't there rumored to be friction between Smith and Romeo Langford last year? I wonder if Smith has benefitted from Langford's departure. Quote

Ranger78 Posted December 4, 2019 Posted December 4, 2019 I’ll need to watch it again, but I would say Green’s only mistakes were him trying to facilitate other players into the offense. He single handling kept us from going under when it got tight in the 2nd half. Green, Smith and Davis all get A+ in my mind. I wonder if Smith has benefitted from Langford's departure. The entire culture of the team has benefitted. One thing I will say for sure is based on what I have seen - and it's been an almost 180* pivot - from Archie, is we seem to be moving away from players who have alternate agendas and focusing on team guys. Kids who'll be around multiple years and want to be part of that vs. one and done or with their eyes on "next." Indiana is building a program with staying power. Games like tonight, with that atmosphere and that toughness against a really solidi defensive team will attract exactly what Indiana needs in order to build, get old, and stay old.
