Not sure how many remember, but Bob Knight almost never made it to Indiana. He was all but signed, sealed and delivered to Wisconsin in 1968. He accepted the job offer while in Madison with the stipulation that no one at Wisconsin announced the hire before Knight could get back to West Point to inform his boss and team. Someone at Wisconsin leaked the information, and Knight told them to pound sand. He stayed at Army for three more seasons before moving to Indiana.

I had the pleasure and/or uncomfortableness of knowing Coach in my younger years. Absolutely dedicated to teaching, one of a kind. He will be greatly missed, and his legacy will be cemented as one of the absolute best coaching coaches in history
