This is not a negative post, but many will take it that way....

I think the truth is this team has two terrific players, and simply no other (healthy) difference makers on the roster. Phinisee is a steadying force and we are capable of playing really good team defense, but at the end of the day this team has a low ceiling. I think Archie is doing a phenomenal job putting us in position to get wins, and our guys have shown real grit, but we just don’t have the talent to run many teams out of the gym. I’ll be happy to make the tournament, but would be shocked if we end up in the top 4 of the conference standings.

I love Archie, and I still think the future is bright, but I think we are going to need to get healthy and see some real player development this offseason to see the progress that many on this board are expecting.

So, I’ll put some positives here since I could be considered one of the more negative posters in game threads:

- Romeo was terrific. His driving is incredible and he uses his length extremely well.

- Juwan with another double-double. Could work on his D a tad, but otherwise a typical Juwan game.

- Green was horrendous on O, but his D continues to be an asset to this team. He really locked down on that end.

- FTs. Our biggest Achilles heel. The box score says we went 25-35, which is massive improvement. Al, Romeo, and Juwan were all good from the line today.

- Defense and Coaching. After another lackadaisical start, we locked down on that end of the floor. Archie got us in gear and had a great game plan on offense as well. Loved putting the ball in Romeo’s hands at the start of the 2nd half

I don’t expect a win at Michigan On Sunday, but would love to see an inspired team effort. Go Hoosiers

The mindset of this team seems to be they are good enough to turn it on when need be. I like the self confidence but Im just not sure we are that good til we start beating some of the better teams in conference.

no kidding, tonight was a trainwreck for him and almost IU at the end. TO's and air-balled lay-ups and floaters that were forced.......his TO that led to the break that cut the lead to 9 with about 3:30 to play was THE reason they even threatened late. Just maddening. I hope he steps it up at Michigan, but can see IU getting blitzed largely due to being dominated at the PG.

That 10 second violation where he got mid court then started dribbling backwards ,,,,,,dreadful!

I’m usually positive, but I think there is a good chance we could lose 6 or 7 of the next 8 if we don’t get people healthy and start games better.

I think 4-4 in that stretch would be a win

3-5. Agree 4-4 would be a win. That’s a brutal stretch.

Win.  On to the next game.  I have yet to see a win I would return.

Bottom line, we are a top 20ish team.  I'm expecting around a 11-9 Big Ten record, 20-11 overall.  And I'm sure if that's our final record some will talk about how we faded down the stretch instead of the schedule simply got very tough.

We are 3-0 in the conference against three of the teams near the bottom.  Thing is.....that's the best that you can be in three games against three teams at the bottom.  Guarantee there will be teams in the conference that wish they had went 3-0 against this set.

To be fair, the other four guys left him out to dry. That looked like something you'd see in a high school game.

Yeah, I'm not sure what he was supposed to do in that circumstance....doubled in the backcourt, he can either pick up the dribble or try to find someone open.  No one came to the ball.  So the turnover looks like it's on him, but someone is supposed to flash to center court.

DeVonte Green to me is like finger-painting.  Just...a mess all over the place, and no structure whatsoever.

How he hasn't (seemingly) learned one thing in 3 years about being a good team mate just baffles me.  It's almost like he makes a couple of decent passes, then says "okay, it's my turn," and throws up some garbage of a shot.   Given his shot selection and propensity for turnovers,  I truly believe he is a net-negative for this basketball team as often as a net positive.  To back that statement up a bit..

In conference games in which he's played, or non conference against decent opponents he is a combined 13-37 from the floor with 17 assists and 15 turnovers.

The game was ugly. Didn’t inspire confidence again but a win is a win. Excited to watch Sunday.

Go Hoosiers!

We won the games we were suppose too. Six of the next eight are road games. I would be happy going four and four. Six of the last nine are at home.

DG. Good engine. No steering wheel, GPS, seat belt, turn signal, wipers, rear view mirror or brakes.
Other than that.... he’s the best we got?
He’s got the potential. No doubt. But..... he needs to get it together. Some of those TO’s and ridiculous throwing air balls at the bucket are very middle school.

You can do it DG..... JUST DO IT...... under control.

GO HOOSIERS!!!!
