2018 General Recruiting Thread

Phinisee comitt sometime in Aug. Doesn't see a problem selling two PG's on playing together i.e. Nova's championship team. Lock up 4 recruits then go all in for Langford and keep an eye on Moses Brown who is seriously interested in IU. Rabby says lots of people taking notice of what we are doing with our recruiting efforts and it generating interest among recruits. Spoke not only of CAM but all of the staff and their past big time recruiting efforts and experience.

This recruiting strategy to me really screams that Archie is expecting some transfers or some guys going pro early.

I say Davis goes after his junior year. And that 2019 class is loaded so scholarships will be necessary

Clifton Moore has more NBA potential than Deron. Perhaps his improved fitness will help but he is significantly lacking in the athleticism department

Agreed. I agree that there's value in somewhat balanced classes, but I wouldn't take Archie's comments about every scholarship's value to mean he'll rarely use all 13. If they're valuable, you'd use them carefully, and leaving one empty will rarely be a high-value choice.

We all want a great '19 class, and it seems we're in good position with high-level targets. Just because Juwan's the only senior that spring doesn't mean he'll be the only one who leaves between now and then, as Cannon says.

Nate Laszewski is on IU's radar. Not sure if anyone else has reported but was also offered by Zona & Wisconsin along with us according to twitter.

Ayala (SG) is still out there with an IU offer.  Also Darius Days (PF) has an offer.  I think Jericole Hellems has dropped from the IU radar if he was ever really on the radar.

Not only that but the strategy is easy to see. How many times did we go all in on a guy like Theo Pension only to lose out and have no back up other than a 2 or 3 star prospect with mostly mid major offers
