I was getting ready to ask if we could stop with all the Alford banter in this thread and try to keep it in his own thread and then I saw the following and felt it should be posted in a thread that so many are following.  The letter is lenghty but it's written by Julie DiCaro a weekend host, update anchor for 670 The Score and a columnist for CBSChicago.com.  Very courageous on her part.

I think I hit my calm this morning.

Nothing we can do but trust in Glass and hope. I think he genuinely wants a winning program. I'm just waiting now. If it's Alford, it's Alford because he thinks that's the guy. If it's Donovan, that's fantastic.

I really wish he could pay Brad Stevens enough to entice him to come to IU because he fits every single criteria. It's really a shame we are too late to make it happen.

Anyway, I'm at peace. Waiting. Waiting. Waiting.

Now if he hires Fife I might come up out of my chair. But let's wait on that.

I'm not seeing anything. You might be looking at the wrong date and still looking at yesterday's plane.

I think if we learn anything from all this, it is that the Monroe airport handles a lot more traffic than many of of imagined.

When I went to gather some intel on whether or not Crean's SUV was there I realized how huge the airport is. It was my first time driving by it and it is HUGE.

Alford's tenure is the most successful period in New Mexico basketball history and they weren't upset to see him go. That should tell you all you need to know about him as a coach.

I don't know who on here is a student and who's not, but I can tell you that hiring Bennett is a great way to alienate the student body from everything I'm hearing on campus. None of us want to watch games that end in scores comparable to girls high school games, so as much as it sucks to say, a lot of us probably just won't come if we can only expect to put up 50 points a game. Not that this has any influence on the search, I'm just saying Glass better keep an eye on how the students are going to react if he plans on having them in Assembly next year

I don't believe this for a second.  I thought the point at the end of the day was to win games and go on deep tourney runs?  You're telling me that students would rather see 96-91 losses than 66-60 wins?? Please.

Pierce was his stud (no pun intended) and his team would tank without him.
