Hoosierfan2017 Posted April 12, 2017 Posted April 12, 2017 Justin Smith averaged just under 3 dunks a game last year. Very nice. Stromboli 1 Quote

It shows his possessions on missed shots, too, which really helps get an idea for how he plays. The biggest thing I took from this was that he attacks the glass hard for rebounds. Driving can use some work. He tends to drive himself into a corner at times, but that's something Archie can fix. I'm excited to see him next year! Stromboli 1 Quote

drock161 Posted April 12, 2017 Posted April 12, 2017 I wish they would let kids go straight out of highschool or make them play 3.Just my opinion but really think the one and done thing has hurt the college game.I (and many people I think) agree. But it would difficult to pull off. The rule that says they need to be 19 to be in the draft is an NBA rule, right? And the NCAA would have to make the 3 year rule. The NCAA can't change the draft rules and the NBA can't make college requirements. If they'd work together it'd be great but I don't know if it would happen. GloryDays 1 Quote

The NBA is the only organization that determines the rules for eligibility that would be necessary for an athlete to enter their draft. They can set the age at 18, 19, 20, or 25 if they wanted (assuming they got past any lawsuits that were filed). The NCAA has no say in the matter, and could never make a rule that prohibits a student from leaving college and working professionally for another organization. Quote

I thought the NCAA would have some say in how athletic scholarships can be given in terms of eligibility but I guess not. Quote

Completely agree. They do that with college football and college baseball. A player has to be in college for at least 3 years until he is eligible for the NFL and MLB drafts. I've never understood why college basketball doesn't do the same Tom White 1 Quote

You can go pro straight out of HS in MLB, 4 year college you have to complete your JR or Sr year, and JUCO players can leave at anytime. I think that would be the perfect rule for the NBA. Popular Post RaceToTheTop Posted April 12, 2017 Popular Post Posted April 12, 2017 Personally, I think that players should be allowed to turn pro right out of high school and leave college at any time they want to turn pro as well. Ultimately, it shouldn't be what is best for the fans. Players should be able to make their own decisions. If someone offered you a dream job after your freshman of college in the major you were going into and the employer didn't care about the lack of degree, then I think no one would argue with you doing so....yet we want to keep players from doing so when ultimately the degree is meaningless to the actual thing they are wanting to turn professional in? You don't have to agree with the decision of a player to leave to agree that they should have the right to do so. ElectricBoogaloo, VO5, sirhoosierlot and 8 others 11 Quote
