CrossboneIU22 Posted February 27, 2017 Posted February 27, 2017 It isn't a money issue. Wasn't two years ago w the buyout, isn't this year w the same thing, isn't a contract thing....it's just not a thingI think he is talking about Donovan, not Creans contract. Bring metrics, counterpoints, and your A-game to the thread. So, if you fire Tom Crean after this year tell me again who is coaching next year? You want coherent, logical arguments? How about turning the ball over in right at 20% of our possessions in Crean's tenure? 1 in 5 possessions are just handed back to the other team. Only one year in 9 have we had a top 30 defense under Crean. You aren't winning a title without that. Or we have had 3 players since 2010 stay 4 years? Is that coherent enough for you? WestCoastView Posted February 27, 2017 Posted February 27, 2017 Injuries matter. This team beat UNC and Kansas with a healthy squad, and no Hartman. Since Blackmon and Bryant are not NBA ready, and for their own good no agent deceives them, IUBB will be favored to win the Big 10 Championship and.... Quote

This team was circling the drain before the injuries really hit. That is no excuse. Look at MSU's injuries and what Izzo is doing with them. 8bucks, Tom White, CR3AMnCR1MS0N and 3 others 6 Quote
CrossboneIU22 Posted February 27, 2017 Posted February 27, 2017 You can replace the 'D' with a bunch of T's since we commit a gazillion turnovers and never use timeouts. We need to put the D back in InDiana. This team also lost to Nebraska on their own floor with OG playing 20+ minutes so lets not pretend they were playing great basketball before all these injuries seemed to hit. And Hartman hasn't played all year so let's so use that as a crutch for the poor play on display from 2 McDonald's All-American's and several other 4-star players. The injuries is just a cover up for a complete lack of direction on the court Tom White, A.j. Nigh and thebigweave 3 Quote

MoyeNeeded Posted February 27, 2017 Posted February 27, 2017 So WestCoastView, if CTC is kept, will IU win the Big10 title next year? Will IU make it into the tournament next year? Will IU hang a banner next year? Will Crean recruit a top 5 class next year? Your answer would be about as speculative as asking us who would be CTC's replacement. To think anything else would be ILLOGICAL!Sent from my SM-G930P using BtownBanners mobile app Quote
WestCoastView Posted February 27, 2017 Posted February 27, 2017 Point well taken, offense schemes are poor. Quote
CrossboneIU22 Posted February 27, 2017 Posted February 27, 2017 Next year's IUBB team will be a force to be reckoned with. How? Maybe if we have a new coach but even then unlikely, unless some unexpected players stay or commit to us with that new coach. If Crean stays we are terrible next year. With a new coach we will be better than this year for sure (assuming next years roster is what you would expect it to be after transfers, NBA, and current recruits). But as others have said, put this years team in the hands of a good coach and elite 8/FF would be closer to expectation than not making the tourney. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners Quote
