And those fans should be directing their comments towards glass in that case.  U can't blame crean for wanting to stick around and make 3 mil.  I would.  It's glass that is obviously the REAL problem if Crean is back.

I 've always tbought Fred was an idiot but I really thought he would actually be dumb enough to bring him back. If so he is the most incompetent AD in the whole country and a flat out liar.

Why is everyone using quotes Glass said about Crean 2 yrs ago to determine if he will be back next yr? I have not heard him say anything about Crean in last few days or even this year. As a matter of fact he specifically declined interviews to the media right now and said nothing recently.

It all just boils down to something VERY SIMPLE to me.  Indiana University should be a day one of the season pencil in for the tournament.  On that ALONE, Crean should be gone.  Under NO circumstances should indiana ever miss the tournament.   Job fail....CYA!

Cant blame the guy though. I sent one everyday this last week lol. They were 2 or 3 sentences just to let him know I was thinking about him but point is. Someone sees those and I am sure Glass is fully aware. If he cares enough to even acknowledge the outcry for Crean being fired is the thing. If Crean is back I am fully on fire Fred Glass. Still would want a new coach, but like 41 said I believe cant blame Crean for taking 3 mill and being at a high profile job. His family will be at risk for public embarrassment which to me no money would be worth it and I would skip town. 3 mill does a lot for a family as well so who knows. I think he would be a great analyst and they make good money. I have thought he would venture into that career for a year to take a break.

Crean getting 26% of the votes is the real problem. Give fans of Duke, Kansas, Kentucky, etc. our results over the past four years and I think the % who would want the coach back would be very close to 0. Too many fans that are satisfied with mediocrity and being relevant once every now and then. They don't expect excellence in the first place so of course they're not upset when we don't achieve it.

Online polls mean nothing. For all we know much of the Crean vote was Wisconsin fans hoping for a couple more guaranteed victories next year.

Lets be honest, those poll numbers arent chsnging in a year. So in your scenario you get another year of Crean before Alford. Lol

I don't see what the benefit would be to waiting until after the NIT, which isn't exactly a prize to begin with.  Make the announcement before and IU is instantly the best job that is known to be open.  Wait and Glass looks like he has lower expectations than Illinois and Missouri.

 

 

Not sure how connected Kent Sterling is, but he just told me on Twitter that Glass is a man of his word and has said he would evaluate after the season ends, and that only way we hear anything before then is if Crean leaves on his own. Pass the Tums, please.

I hate to say this but if Crean is retained, boycott anything that has to do with IU basketball until a change is made. This is the only way to force Glass's hand. The loudest voice we can make is not being present for anything. You can still support the program but do it from your family room watching them on tv. I hate that it has resorted to this.

Well he did hire a football coach without conducting a search... Nothing surprises me with Glass. I will just need to move on and so will a lot of others. Assembly Hall will be interesting next year if Crean is on the sidelines. He will be very uncomfortable which is why I don't understand why he won't leave.

He has to at least check it out. Ignoring it completely could make him miss some stuff from people he actually listens to. When Trump got on board the administration made comments about the emails they received with concerns about their visas. That was a lot more impactful situation but they do pay attention in some sort of form. Any with Fire Tom Crean as subject probably gets sent as spam though.
