Brass Cannon Posted February 14, 2016 Posted February 14, 2016 No that's not our problem I think. I think we had unrealistic expectations coming off of essentially a death penalty. Hopefully we can get back to where we belong. I mean hes had 8 years, I think its realistic at this point that he should have gotten the ship righted Alford Bailey, MikeRoberts and hoosha61 3 Quote
Trish Posted February 14, 2016 Posted February 14, 2016 No adjustments. Terrible subs. Williams playing. Terrible sets. No Defense. The list above are easily fixable, but not for Crean.. It's just typical Crean basketball. If we didn't shoot decently from three tonight, this would've been even uglier. We have got to stop living and dying by the three. mdn82 Posted February 14, 2016 Posted February 14, 2016 I will say the fans are more against Crean than the level davis got. I know people were against davis but I know far more people have quit watching and given up on Crean and the team. If we were not having a good big ten season the level of hatred would be off the charts imoMost fans quit watching IU for Texas Tech. I do agree with the last part though. Quote
coonhounds Posted February 14, 2016 Posted February 14, 2016 Most fans quit watching IU for Texas Tech. I do agree with the last part though.I won't count the fans that left for Texas Tech because I consider them bob knight fans. In fairness if davis was coach for 8 years I believe fans would have been more against him than crean. The reason crean is worse imo is because he is doing to little with more talent than Davis had Alford Bailey, 8bucks, WayneFleekHoosier and 1 other 4 Quote

AKHoosier Posted February 14, 2016 Posted February 14, 2016 looking in good position to win his first regular season conference championship in the juggernaut conference called the a-10 Thank you. Archie Miller is not the answer. I would honestly rather extend Crean than fire him just to bring in Miller. theriverpilot and biteoftheapple 2 Quote
Walking Boot of Doom Posted February 14, 2016 Posted February 14, 2016 Simple question: Does Troy help or hurt the team more when he is on the court? I get your point, but that's not a simple question. Depends on how he's playing. Today, he hurt the team, and rode the pine because of it. Quote
Old Friend Posted February 14, 2016 Posted February 14, 2016 Thank you. Archie Miller is not the answer. I would honestly rather extend Crean than fire him just to bring in Miller. We cannot extend Crean under any circumstances, and whoever our next coach is will not be someone this obvious unless it's Stevens. Glass has a hard time ahead of him, and I don't envy his position. But he cannot look at Tom Crean and see a long term answer. He's not that stupid. MikeRoberts, Ryno6284 and Feathery 3 Quote

Trish Posted February 14, 2016 Posted February 14, 2016 Glass either needs to fire him or wait until his contract is up to decide. He cannot throw another extension at him just because he has a top 10 team or something. Quote
Alford Bailey Posted February 14, 2016 Posted February 14, 2016 To me, Glass is getting ready to find himself in a hard spot. We will make the dance but if we go out first round what will he say? Running out of excuses. O, wait, I forgot about the JBJ injury... Quote
biteoftheapple Posted February 14, 2016 Posted February 14, 2016 If this coach is extended before his end date, I will be done watching the program. Alford Bailey, yogisballin and ALASKA HOOSIER 3 Quote
Ryno6284 Posted February 14, 2016 Posted February 14, 2016 But, clearly he's not playing well and has been on the bench pretty much the entire game because of it, which I fully agree with. He logged 20 minutes today! He shouldn't have played more than 8 the way he was playing! coonhounds and MikeRoberts 2 Quote

HoosierAloha Posted February 14, 2016 Posted February 14, 2016 I get your point, but that's not a simple question. Depends on how he's playing. Today, he hurt the team, and rode the pine because of it. It is rather simple. We try to make things more complicated than they actually should be. Often times when we get the few minutes of good Troy we need to because we were in a hole from bad Troy. If Troy plays at a consistently above average player we go to the next level. When Troy often plays down a few notches he not only effects himself but the rest of the team. I believe if Troy became more of a role player we would see a similar effect to what happened when JBJ went out. I would be willing to risk it and give Troy about 10-15 minutes per game until he proves he deserves more. Hoosiers219 and Napleshoosier 2 Quote

All my friends still watch the games while im fine with missing one. Hell i live in Bloomington and won't attend a game unless its for a fair price. That's how bad Crean has ruined it for me. 8bucks Posted February 14, 2016 Posted February 14, 2016 Thank you. Archie Miller is not the answer. I would honestly rather extend Crean than fire him just to bring in Miller. Miller is in year 5. We don't know much about him other than he has had a couple of good runs in the NCAAs. After Creans first five years there was some similarities. Year 5 Crean won his first conference title and had DWade and the FF run. Archie may not make s FF run but is ready to win his first conference title too. The gauge is what happens next for Archie. Does he have 5 following years where they finish 8th, 9th, 5th, 4th and 5th in his conference and only 1 NCAA win or does he stay at the top of his conference. I agree with this, but that will mean we need more from OG and Morgan. OG is playing extremely well in his role, but I'm not sure if he's ready for 30 minutes a game. Hope I'm wrong! Stuhoo 1 Quote

Glass has a hard time ahead of him, and I don't envy his position.I concur 100% and am glad to see others do as well. Outside of BS I don't think there is a slam dunk hire. If he wants to stay in the NBA, which I think he might, then I think this is a much harder search, whenever it happens, than many realize. The next hire has to be the right one, not necessarily the sexy one. I want to win games not the press conference. BGleas, Old Friend and Class of '66 Old Fart 3 Quote
