Are the deep tourney runs when we went to the sweet sixteen or are you looking back to the FF with Calbert/Graham/Henderson and the championship game with Mike Davis?

 Final Fours with the 1992 squad and the 2002 squad. I was really young for the 1992 game but I still rememeber the entire family getting together and being really excited about the game (until Teddy V took over). The 2002 run was my most fond. I gave myself a concussion at the end of the Duke game. I was in my friends converted bedroom attic and jumped up and hit my head on a roof rafter. So much fun. I live in Fort Wayne and I remember all of the IU pride that was oozing out from that run. IU flags out on everyone's porches... Local businesses rooting on the Hoosiers on their company signs... People honking and waving hello to fellow hoosiers with bumper stickers or flags flying from their windows.  That was what sealed my fate as a lifetime IU fan. Ever since????? Pure torment.

 

Note: I dont consider a sweet 16 appearance a deep tournament run.

But dude, get off your pedestal. Just because you're fine with the current state of the program that doesn't make you a better fan than anyone else. SO sick of one side of the fan base calling the others out as not being true fans because they don't agree, both extremes do it.

I am SO sick of post like these. "Oh I'm a real Indiana fan and only true Indiana fans except National titles" (GET OFF YOUR PEDESTAL). I don't care if you have negative things to say, after a loss like that I had a lot of them to say, but I don't get on here whining about how I knew it a long we weren't that good, when you just like everyone else was super excited coming into this invitational. To see post now that say oh we couldn't hang with UCLA now, and Tom Crean couldn't coach a high school team, it's all ignorance. You guys jut get so extreme after a loss in November that shouldn't have shocked anybody. It's unfortunate that yeah that has been a common thing with Creans teams, but jeez it's still a pretty promising season is it not?

I was watching the game last night with my dad, a duke fan, and with 3.2 seconds left he said "plenty of time, I bet you'll get an open 3 to win or find Williams cutting for a dunk." But I had zero confidence we would win. I mean, at least last year Yogi would get a shot off. But when you're surprised your coach actually drew something up in the first place, and 100% expect to lose in a close game situation, you know it's time

My wife (UofL fan) said the same thing about us having plenty of time to get a good shot... I immediately said I bet we don't even get a shot off.. No confidence that we ever win a close game and sure as hell not a game at the buzzer... If we have a chance we waste it and if our opponent has a chance they will make it happen every time!

I hear ya. Creans best season (12-13) we had the horrible losses to Butler, Illinois and Wisky at home.

Went to go cancel my BigTen2go package. Noticed it expires December 24th. Maybe I will watch that IPFW game since its paid for but would be happy to miss it.

Man, playing at 7:30 against a legit contender in Vandy is so much more enticing than 2 vs Junk John's.

Tomorrows UNLV game will be interesting. Playing for 5th. If we are lucky.

I'm only 29 years old and in my entire lifetime I have witnessed just two deep tournament runs. Pretty sad. One of the guys who works with me witnessed all 3 of Knights championships. He tells me all the time, that he feels terrible for the younger generations bc we will likely never get to enjoy Indiana Basketball the way they did. I'm beginning to lose hope and that's a bad sign for our program. The leadership has beaten me into submission.

Same here. Being 29, I do get worried. I'm starting to think we will see this kind of basketball until Crean's contract is up, and we will get a new coach in.
