Not sure how to link to twitter, but a respected used-to-be NFL sideline doctor saw the video on OG and said it's a classic ACL tear mechanism. He done. :(

If it's the one I'm thinking of he's been wrong a few times.  Although a friend thought he tore the knee up.

Looked like a rolled ankle to me on the replay, but a non-contact knee injury like that is never good

Honestly I didn't notice his being absent tonight.  He didn't make the Maryland trip either.  I understand when a walk on doesn't travel, but not a scholarship player.

And no one even questions it. [emoji23][emoji23][emoji23]

MSB says "why travel to road games when I can hit jumpers cross country!"

About a 100000000000% percent chance he was getting a bogus extension anyway.  Losing record in conference might have taken it down to a 10000000% chance.

You got it.

Lots of dumb turnovers almost cost us this one. Luckily, PSU made plenty of dumb turnovers too. Winning on the road without JM and without OG in the second half is something I'll take any day though.

We had only 5 TOs in the first half. I knew it wouldn't last. PSU also struggled with any shot outside a few feet until the closing minutes.

Some observations:

If Juwan had been in the game, he's our best in-bounds passer. We wouldn't have had so many failed in-bounds plays.

If Juwan and/or OG are in the game, they are our best defenders, and Penn State wouldn't have made that late run so easily.

If Curtis had calmly dropped either of those free throws (both front ends of 1+1), the late-game heroics wouldn't have been necessary, and we all know he's normally dead-on from the line.

I fear OG may be gone for the season. I hope not. Maybe it's not a tear, but I fear it is. If it's a small meniscus tear he might be back by the end of the year. I'm recovering from knee surgery myself so I know of what I speak, only mine was torn meniscus x 2 plus a bone fragment embedded in my tendon.

If OG is gone, Davis becomes doubly valuable backing up both Bryant and Juwan...or starting.

For all the bad-mouthing I've done on JBJ, he got it done, and only once or twice did I see him get lost on defense. Kudos to him. But after one outstanding game, Newkirk became turnovers waiting to happen on offense again. I am always jittery when he has the ball.

And an ugly thought: if OG is done for the year, not much chance he goes pro, and Jordan Tucker has said he doesn't want to come and compete against OG, he wants to replace him.

Didn't know he said that....something to think about for sure. If it's me, I don't think I'd want to compete for pt with a sophomore OG either. Interesting.

I feel like it's the other way around, the injury makes it seem more likely that he goes pro. No reason to stick around college and play for free and risk another significant injury.

Does anybody know...

Does McRoberts rip everything he shoots in practice?

When I was at IU, we had a guy named Jeff Stocksdale who never missed in practice and never could hit in a game

Who is going to draft a guy who just tore an acl? I would think they would want to see how he recovers first.

The 76ers drafted Embiid #3 with all of his foot problems. I would argue that for a 7 footer that's a more significant injury than a torn ACL. Someone would take a chance on him in the 1st round.
