First surgery complete … femur repair done. Next surgery will be 6-8 weeks from now to do the ligament repair/reconstruction. Calf muscle should heal on its own, as should the tibia fracture. Thanks for your prayers.

Yea. Wisconsin is really slipping. Mediocre coach, they can’t hide in the Big 10 West anymore, and now other programs, including us, are starting to have some real recruiting success in their state. I’m finding these developments to be… enjoyable.

  10. 2-0 deficit 2-0 deficit 1-0 deficit 2-0-1 Overall, Which is a lot better compared to previous years. Although playing behind in the 1H is a bit worrisome and hopefully that will be addressed soon. However, the 2H adjustments so far have been very good.

Parker Navarro rocks. Ran for over 1k last year which is especially impressive in college where sack yards = negative rushing yards.

  17. Oregon also got embarrassed by OSU in the playoffs (worse than us) and nothing about them either

  18. Really tired of the “exposed in the playoff” chatter about IU. Based on our OSU/ND performances were we truly a threat to win it all? No, we were not, but you could say that same thing about 8 or 9 of the teams in the playoff. We 100% earned the right to be in the playoff. Tennessee got curb stomped 42-17 vs OSU, and was NEVER in the game, but how many “Tennessee was exposed in the playoff” comments are in the webverse? Virtually zero. Let’s prove it on the field again this year!!!

Tennessee signs Rick Barnes to a “lifetime contract.” Dude’s 71 and, I think, has 1 more year on his deal. So signing him to something like a 3 year extension probably would have served the same purpose. But structuring it like that is certainly a nice bouquet for the school to throw his way and he’s anbsolutely earned it.

  21. For anyone that was wondering, I got my confirmation of tickets for Marquette about an hour ago in my email. Got lower bowl tickets at $100 apiece. Billing on September 2, so I’m assuming one could decide against taking them if they want to.

  23. Fickell going there and immediately implementing the air raid was baffling. You will NEVER get the kids to Madison that run that effectively in this conference. If you squint you can see a Fickell/Cincy reunion on the horizon.

  27. Pleased enough with this start. Talent is there this year without question. Gotta get some things figured out. I’m reeling a bit where my son lost their first game of the season last night 0-1 after outplaying the #1 team all game. Bit bummed. PS- our team is 3-1-1 now and hopefully get a rematch in sectionals or regionals for the revenge game. Sent from my iPad using BtownBanners

Gutsy 4th down call by Schiano instead of the FG. Me thinks he didn't want to give Parker the ball back.

  32. Third game of the season and the third game we've trailed at the half as Green Bay maintains a 1-0 lead. We've had our chances firing off 12 total shots with 6 on goal and 8 corners. GB with just 3 total shots but all on goal and they made one of them count. They had 3 corners. GM has committed 10 fouls and had a player assessed a yellow card.

FWIW I had the full ligament redo after tearing my ACL/MCL during an IU Law School HPER intramural game at age 24. After that surgery I had no bounce……………………Before that surgery I had no bounce!! :) Been many decades and my surgery knee is pretty much as good as the other one—good enough to have played 3 on 3 hoops at the city courts a few months ago on my 60th bday

  45. Last year, at South Carolina in front of 78,000 fans, Old Dominion only lost 23-19 and they should have won the game. South Carolina only scored 2 td’s both of which followed recovering OD fumbles inside the 10 yard line. ie South Carolina was not able to generate a TD “drive” longer than 10 yards the entire game!! OD out gained and outplayed South Carolina (which as a member of the SEC is obviously one of the best teams in the history of football) but shot themselves in the foot with 4 turnovers. We better be ready to play ( I have the utmost confidence that Cig will make sure that happens). Can’t wait!!

My grandson saw the surgeon this morning. They are doing the femur fracture repair on Thursday, and 6-8 weeks later they will do the ligament repair. The doctor called it a "horrific injury", and said that at his age, you generally get ligaments to pop or bones to break, but rarely both. Keep the prayers coming. Appreciate you all.

  48. I've never quite understood why parking is so tough for IUFB. We have a pretty modest stadium -- 52.5K capacity, and less the 8K students who aren't buying nice parking spots, about 44.5K people need parking. That's not a huge number. It seems like we have a lot of lots and fields around the stadium. But gosh darn is parking expensive and hard to get. I'm sure we just have less parking than I think, but sheesh. We sold about 34-35K season tickets and that alone pushed people to the Genesis Church! It appears (I could be wrong though) IU is now highlighting some more lots east of Fee for public parking given all the demand. Interesting stuff and a good problem.
