Looks like Juwan might be shown in this picture from the MBB twitter account. Running next to Justin Smith...hard to see anything but the individual has a wrap around their right leg but does seem to be working out with the team. If that is the case it would have to be a good sign.

Juwan is definitely a "dog." And he didn't come into his own until Archie got here. Maybe some of his canine qualities are held back by the constant foul trouble caused by being a dog. Zach is a "dog." He worked his way into Archie's starting lineup. We have so much dogness at practices that we've been shorthanded the entire year from practice injuries like concussions and contusions. Curtis Jones got pushed out for not being doglike to Archie's dogliking. Moore is an anti-dog, and doesn't see the floor. Romeo isn't soft. One of the stupidest things I've read. He absorbs a ton of contact, he just happens to anticipate it well to still get a shot and make it look good. Doesn't mean he's not getting hit. Justin... yeah he needs to go up stronger. Last year Juwan said that the team calls him "practice dunker" because he can dunk on everyone in practice, and then in games he lays it in (or tries to). In my estimation, we've got the dog factor dialed in. If we turn it up any more, we'll just get more injuries and fouls, which is about the last thing we can take. We're a missed tip-in from being 7-1 with a seriously compromised roster, and the fans are blaming everything from jerseys, to lack of a mascot, to McRobbie, to adidas as a sponsor. And now calling our motley crew of bandaged survivors "soft." We still compete on boards, even though the coaching philosophy is to send guys sprinting to the other end. Our defense is much improved. Our eFG% is excellent, in large part due to bodying in for high percentage shots. In fact, it's the non-dog parts of the game that are hurting us, like passing the ball to the opposing team, missing free throws, and 3pt shots. Edit: WayneFleek beat me to a few of the points. Maybe my typing is soft.

It's not really about 'allowing it'. Guys are playing basketball, sometimes a lane is there and you make a move and it works, other times the defense reacts quickly and what was an open lane to the basket turns into a 1-on-3. It's not like Archie is telling them to take 1-on-3 shots, it's just guys reading plays and sometimes they make the wrong read. The problem comes in when they're not improving in their reads, which you can make a case that Green hasn't improved in this area at all during his career, while Phinisee is still young, does it less often, and will most likely improve.

Yeah from what I’m hearing from several people is that this will hopefully be a full class right around that 23-25 range. Breakdown wise.....I’m hearing a bunch of things and also reading multiple things. This will probably be long as i will talk through some groups that we will still take players in QB— I say 1 spot left for sure and there’s a new name to watch current Louisville verbal Jaden Johnson just popped up on visit list this weekend I believe(don’t feel like flipping through tabs). I heard from my cousin that the Baldwin visit went well....will be interesting. I would not be mad if we took 2 in all honesty. But most likely only 1. WR-1-2 more. right now we have Jakes, Ellis is WR, Brown is WR.....I’d say we land Todd. And obviously Bell is a auto take for This staff. And I think it’s honesly down to Purdue and IU. I think OSU and PSU are out. OL- 3 more. 1 experienced guy and 2 young guys. DL- 1-2. interior I would say done unless Kristian Williams wants to verbal but not looking promising now. Latrell jean is next up. Edge rusher there are several names but Everitt Cunningham from EMCC would be a nice add. LB- 1-Cam Williams is left on the board. So 1 spot here Safety- 1- I would say Toomer who has always been a top target and is a current Stanford verbal....if he flips or wants to the staff takes him but this is just me and we have stepped up somewhat is Jamal Hill. His frame is nice for a senior in HS reminds me of Crawford from his tape. So overall.... 7-8 more spots left. Some positions may playout differently based on if any for sure takes give verbals or sign...it should be a fun fun December and early signing period. I will say that on another note with this class. I love the enthusiasm from Tiwan Mullen. One of the big gets for this class and he’s the most vocal on social media and love his love for this staff and this team.

We've got an advantage on a lot of schools by having such fertile recruiting ground in our backyard. Playing for Indiana wasn't cool when Crean was the coach. The guys we've been getting, Anderson/Phinisee/Romeo last year and Franklin/TJD/Brooks (fingers crossed) are making it cool again. The kids coming up the next few years will see those guys play for IU and want to follow in their footsteps.

Lol we just got a top 5 kid in Romeo and two top 25 kids for next year (I am banking Brooks). What kid would we have got if we had different uniforms? Like I don’t even care if we make some changes to our jerseys but you guys put way too much stock in what a jersey’s appearance means for a kid. I can honestly say with the utmost confidence there has never been negative recruiting against a jersey that should look different. I can also say and be willing to bet a kid liked a school and said nope, I am not going there because of the jersey. Do you guys realize how ludicrous this sounds? Brooks will get a bump, imo, due to the games he will play in front of national scouts and media. It’s remarkable, honestly. Just consider how our in state recruiting has been under our last few coaches. Hoping we can get the on court play to match the results of our recruiting. Recruiting is keeping me pacified at the moment. Keep this level up and the results will come, unless Arch is a flop, which is hard for me to imagine.

Statistics aren't necessarily the most important indicator of how valuable point guards are to a team. Quinn Buckner led IU to a Final Four his freshman year. He joined the team after starting as a defensive back on IU's football team. His leadership was indispensable to that team's success as it was to the 1974-75 team and the 1975-76 undefeated team. Isaiah Thomas led IU to a Sweet Sixteen his freshman year. Isaiah is one the top five best players in IU history. Yogi Farrell's IU team also went to a Sweet Sixteen, a disappointment since they were ranked Number 1 a good part of the season. But he was critical to that team's success. Vernon Payne was an All American point guard at IU during the Lou Watson years, ranked 9th in IU scoring, and led IU to a Big Ten Championship. Freshmen weren't allowed to play then (1964-68). Vernon Payne was a truly great point guard and often overlooked. In my opinion, he was as good or better than any IU point guard not named Isaiah Thomas or Quinn Buckner.

I'm not one of the totally passionate posters on this issue, but I will note that recruits are attracted to different things. Some like hot pink jerseys with a Jordan logo, others like the traditional stuff. I'm with Mamasa here, let's not throw away one of the things that makes us unique. Other programs would kill to have the tradition we have. Surely no one will mind if we have alternate jerseys as well. I'd like to see a play on the crimson a little more, a little darker. I like the script. And let the guys have a modern cut. Look good, play good.

We are LUCKY to be able to play Penn State, Rutgers, Illinois, AND Northwestern on the road. Gotta win them all. I think @ Purdue could be a win as well. They don't impress me at all.

No one likes transfers, but it's part of College bball today. We have a couple of kids/guys who are holding scholarships but are highly unlikely to see floor time, even as upperclassmen. We also have a guy who wants to be a star but doesn't play Archie's game/system. So yes, a transfer is completely within reason. I don't see this as a Crean/force out situation. It will be natural, and I'm sure all parties are well aware ahead of time. Archie is way too straightforward to just screw a guy out of a position by recruiting over him.

For Brooks? No, we lose Morgan/Fitzner, and everyone expects Romeo to be a one and done, which gives us 3 open scholarships. We'd most likely need a transfer if we take 4 players in the class.

I think Keion could be a one and done. He is way overlooked. Personally think he is better than Trayce. But I see him at IU for two years and Trayce for three. It is all a random guess at this time. At this time I don't see Romeo saying another year. Now, if his three point percentage stays around 25% we will talk... But hopefully Jerome comes back healthy and Justin Smith gets going.

IMO if that job became available Meyer would take it in a heartbeat. I'm not sure that Kelly's fan support really runs that deep but it's all just my perception.

Shooting (3 PT and FT) as well as TOs have to get better. Get TOs down 5 per game. And shooting up 5 percent and were probably a top 20 offense and defense. And none of that is a crazy thing to ask
