  1. A classmate of mine actually played with Matthew at the Adidas AA camp this summer and mentioned to me a few weeks back how often he talked about Indiana and how highly he spoke of IU. Clearly there is a long way to go in this recruitment but I figured it was a good time to pass this on. Always nice to hear a player of his caliber have positive things to say about the program. 3. Forrester is doing his part! Also good to see this attitude, since it's basically Jake getting recruited over. I've heard many times that Jake brings some real personality to the team.

  13. I think that these '21 recruitments are going to start coming down to what these kids see us doing on the court. It's time for us to start making the improvements there to show that this program is on its way up and that CAM was the right choice to lead us.

    Gold Jerseys

Indiana Men’s basketball coach Archie Miller tweeted out a little after 8pm this evening that the first ‘Gold Jersey’ of the year was earned today, by none other than Juwan Morgan. Archie uses the gold jersey as his standard performance evaluator during the week’s practices. Archie made note that Morgan outperformed the next closest teammate by a stunning 31 points. If you think about the context of a basketball practice, that usually lasts about 2 hours or so per day. For Juwan to outperform everyone else by 31 points is incredible. Archie made mention in the tweet that he was “looking forward to seeing if someone gets his gold jersey next week.” This should come as no surprise to anyone that Morgan was able to be the first player to earn the gold jersey for the 2018-2019 season. Morgan will have his hands on that jersey as much as possible. It’s Morgan’s senior year– he’s got one last opportunity to make another run at a second Big Ten title, and to play into early April. It’ll be interesting to see who shines in next week’s practice and ultimately earns the prized jersey for week two. Devonte Green earned the gold jersey on a few occasions last year, along with a few of seniors. It will be interesting to see if somebody else at least bridges the gap from Morgan’s 31 point victory, because that will mean one of two things– Morgan either was just that good, or everyone else on the team wasn’t that good. Indiana is still three plus weeks from it’s season opener, so there is plenty of time for progress to be made and another gold jersey to be earned. Indianasportscoverage.com

  25. One thing i’ve noticed that is really telling; Out of all the officials, TJD only posted himself in an IU uniform. No other jerseys. Keion as well, but he has a few more to go. Really good sign IMO.

  28. How much interest would there be for a college basketball pick ems? I'm thinking 25 games a week Monday to Sunday with the majority of the games coming from the Big Ten and top 25. If we can get 10+ people I would be happy to put it together. It would be similar to the CFB/NFL pick em where it is just picking the winner and not the spread. In the noncon it might be a little boring with not too many marquee matchups each week but would definitely be better during the conference season. Let me know!

  33. I believe Watford is not on the IU board. However, when you look at these three schools, it screams disaster in the making. He may not be a one-and-done so he may be shifting gears to find a good two year school that will fit. IU may be an option. This one would be a total shocker.

  34. From a Yahoo Sports article published this morning: Schools included in the initial set of charging documents in September 2017, and in subsequent superseding indictments, knew this day was coming: Arizona, N.C. State, Kansas, Maryland, Louisville, USC, Auburn and Miami. Others have been mentioned in testimony this week: Alabama, Kentucky, Mississippi State, Washington and Utah. More will follow. On Monday, Judge Lewis A. Kaplan mentioned LSU, Creighton, DePaul, Oklahoma State and Texas to jurors.

  36. It would be a bit more work to track that as well. I'm messing around with excel again to try and get the tracking down. I've done the football one before at work but never a basketball one. I think we could get 25 games a week but some might be too easy to pick like IU over Indiana S... errrrrr.

  47. Recruiting is most obviously about connections. A lot of times those run deep. Fran coached as an assistant and recruiting coordinator under Phelps at Notre Dame for over 10 years. So he spent 10 years building relationships and connections. Also, Sherman Dillard, current assistant, was a head coach at Indiana State. They can get in the door but....
