Totally agree. Think that’s the most obvious change, but would take the committee conceding that conference championships don’t mean anything anymore which they probably aren’t ready to do because of the money involved. But I think a SMU/ASU and Boise State/IU game, for the right to play Penn state or Texas, would have been better television and competition than the current setup provided. cthomas and LIHoosier 2 Quote
go iu bb Posted December 21, 2024 Posted December 21, 2024 Clemson within 7 with over 11 minutes remaining. Edit: Then gives up a 77 yard TD run. /sigh Quote
Artie86 Posted December 22, 2024 Posted December 22, 2024 Can someone please tell me how getting beat 27-17 is a blowout? I mean, yes, it was 24 points late, but we never quit and ended up getting it to a 10 point loss. I’m so sick of these game announcers keep comparing IU and SMU in the same sentence as “both blowouts”! Yes, SMU was blown out by 28 points, but not IU! cthomas, southsidehoosier, go iu bb and 1 other 3 1 Quote
DChoosier Posted December 22, 2024 Posted December 22, 2024 The announcers and pundits keep blabbering about games that aren’t close but….HELLO, there were plenty of blowouts when it was just a 4 team playoff. They keep acting as if such a thing has never happened and that blowouts are proof of a non-existent problem. Alford Bailey and go iu bb 2 Quote

Josh Posted December 22, 2024 Posted December 22, 2024 So far our 10 point loss is the smallest margin of the playoffs. Will that change anybody's narrative? Artie86 1 Quote

Which, unfortunately, was us being dominated and blown out. The shots we are taking might be ramped up a bit by our coach (who I absolutely love) going on the gameday set and spewing a bunch of completely unnecessary nonsense right before having our tails handed to us. go iu bb 1 Quote

EXCEPT if Alabama had gotten in over SMU or IU and was dominated for 55 minutes and then scored a couple of times late, that wouldn't be the narrative that ESPN and those with SEC bias would be citing.
